After having played this myself for 250+ hours, I'll give my brief opinion on things. (Hope you don't mind me reviving this topic.)
It's really great, and a wonderful addition to the Elder Scrolls series, in my opinion. But it really feels like it got dumbed down in a bunch of different areas, and the world feels..smaller. I know it still has about the same amount of quests as Oblivion, but in Oblivion it seems like I ran across more interesting and unique quests more often. It's difficult to explain. It may just be because Oblivion was my 1st ES game (I went back and played MW after, though.) so it feels like the best.
The game has more things that you can run into whilst adventuring than Oblivion did. In Oblivion, there was a whole lot of nothing you had to walk through (Or fast travel through.) before you came across something. In Skyrim, it seems I can always find something to do, even if it doesn't interest me that much.
I know my post isn't very organized, but what the hell. I don't usually put numbers on games because I feel that the quality of them is relative, but I'll make an exception. I'd give it a 8.23/10. The .23 is because they gave PC gamers such as myself a High-Res texture pack shortly after release -

NiGHTS Noob, on 03 August 2011 - 05:29 AM, said:Well that was an easy setup version, I've never had trouble with it, but I've also never put it on a 64-bit system, so that's entirely possible.
You can go to http://elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/ to get the full game in its raw form, and then configure DosBox yourself to run it. Sorry but it's too old to just straight run.
Okay, I'll give that a shot, then.
Anyone want to gift me it on steam, by a chance? Nevermind, preordered. -

Forgive me, but I have never even heard of SatAM. What's that?
Also, I've pretty much given up all hope when it comes to sonic games, period. -

Agreed on all those points. When I tried to DL Daggerfall just recently it said I had the wrong version. (My guess is I downloaded 32 bit by accident.)The stealth in Oblivion was bearable for me because of mods, made it more realistic and rewarding. Better bow if you finish this dungeon without being detected, better dagger, etc. The stealth system will work as follows, if you didn't already know: Detected, Hidden, and then a mode where the guards are suspicious, will remember past events, but haven't found you yet. Not sure what that's called. Anyway, you will have a chance to hide again if a guard finds you, but he will look long and hard before he gives up, which adds to the difficulty, IMO.
Agreed on the magic, I'll probably use it more than I thought at first, because of the badass explosion+slow-time-down shout shown in the gameplay. I'm interested to see how the shouts work. It seems there's a lot of room to mix and match spells and shouts. About the dragons, though, you are really supposed to fear them, and not always engage them, so encountering them at a low level would teach you to stay the hell out of their way until you are powerful enough to engage one. (Not necessarily fighting one. Could be scripted. Bethesda mentioned there will be scripted dive bombings, and even non-scripted ones. Those will be rare though.)
This may seem like a silly thing to be happy about, but the dynamic weather system is pretty cool.
