Well, to be fair, The Office one was done a very long time ago, and both were made while I was supposed to be doing work for my job and did not have access to IPB to test any skin stuff.

Most of you have not seen this new SOL logo:

I made it sometime last year and have been waiting for a redesign to start using it, but there it is in the meantime. I like the Sonic Spin design but I want to rework the font. Keep in mind I came up with it well before the Shadow the Hedgehog game and that copycat logo.

That looks cool. I didn't even think of the similarities between that logo and the Shadow the Hedgehog one.

Hey cool, I really like that! The spin design is neat, like you said...

If you're looking for a new font for the title, try the Spiderman movie font. That seems to be a really popular one these days.

Well, I didn't gather that most of you would be interested in, say, my brochure designs or typography work, but here's finally something to show again:

Attached File  colorcorrected.jpg (62.27K)

It's for a class assignment where we have to create a "surreal landscape." It actually didn't take too terribly long. I'm pretty happy with it, and plan to turn it in tomorrow unless there are any suggestions. I also may play with color balance and contrast a bit. The full size is about 5000x3100, so it was a bitch to work with. It's not absolutely flawless, but hey, I have no goddamn idea how whales in the sand dunes would actually look, and I only have so much patience placing sand particles all over the place.

The clouds aren't in the original and I'm still debating between them, fluffier clouds, and no clouds. Also, if you look closely, you can see a lighthouse way in the distance.

That's pretty damned sweet, Sway. I'm probably going to use that for one of my Wallpapers since I haven't changed it in months.

Thanks. If you're going to use it as a wallpaper, here's a higher res version, good (with cropping and resizing and whatnot) for all monitor resolutions 1920x1200 and lower.

How do I respond to whales in sand?

Hey, thanks for that. I was afraid I was gonna end up having to stretch it just so it would cover up the whole background.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I did some extremely slight cleanup on the image and did some color and levels adjustments, so I've re-upped the final image in place of the other two. The one in my original post should show up, but you may need to clear your browser cache for the large one (Ctrl + F5).

That's amazing, man. It's a cool concept, and the image itself is very impressive. Stuff like the airborne sand particles must have been a pain in the ass to get right, but the end result looks great. The little details like the fishing boat and the lighthouse really give the image some personality and help enhance the atmosphere. Nice job!

I think the back side of the hill in the background [The one with the boat on it] may be slightly too dark now...But that might just be me. And the shadow on the closer whale seems kind of odd to me. The whale's tail looks thick, but the shadow is relatively skinny. And there's not much change when it goes over the edge of the hill, where I would think the angle or length would change.

Really nice job on the sand particles, though. I'd never have the patience to do that.

The sand whales are awesome~ But wouldn't be hard to swim in sand? Anyway, it's fantabulous. I can't work with computer stuff, I just screw up.
The fishing boat remind me of a desert in Africa where there are all these ancient ships, right in the middle of the desert. I think it's because there used to be an ocean there or something, and when the boats sank, they washed up on shore. It's really cool.

So I attended Winona State University for a brief time for MN's post-secondary enrollment program so I could get college credit for free in high school. Anyway, I made some friends there, and long story short, I was asked to submit a design for their holiday greeting card this year that they send out to all the rich alumni.

I came up with this:

Attached File  wsucard.png (510.61K)
Number of downloads: 2

It's an aurora in purple (school's main color) in the shape of the flame in their logo, seen here:

Attached File  w1.gif (2.21K)
Number of downloads: 2

I was partially inspired by their sesquicentennial logo:

Attached File  view.jpg (11.78K)
Number of downloads: 2

So that's that. Open to suggestions to improve it still, especially since I'm having trouble making it an actual design rather than a mere photo manipulation/digital painting. Will probably mess with the colors a bit to get it a little more blue.
