That's true. I mean, I agree that I like the second one better, I'm just not sure how to make the "i" stand out more. Because it definitely could be a bit more prominent. I'm just not sure how to go about doing that.

Still ugly as sin, and the "i" is still way too small.
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Alright, time to showcase why I have been too busy to do anything here.
I've been working at a Shakespeare festival over the summer, doing all their design work. I have a 31-page playbill, two other programs, ID badges, flyers, hand-outs, newsletter designs, etc., but this here is my best stuff, or the stuff that would make most of an impact on any of you. Like I said much earlier, no one's interested in brochure designs.
My first poster. Made in about two days after inspiration struck. Very literal, I suppose.

The next poster I did. This one is meant to draw the eye through in a certain way, and the lines eventually act as a stage for the title. Retro. I gotta be honest, I kinda forgot why I did it this way, but I had a reason.

This is the one a lot of people seemed to like. Shakespeare Behind Bars, to sum it up as much as possible, is a program where prisoners put on Shakespeare plays. This is a documentary about that program that was shown. It's supposed to represent growth. I always try to have a good idea like that to start with -- a real concept -- and from there, the design sort of falls into place on its own. Done with a tablet.

Bill Bowers is a mime who also acts and all that, and he put on a one man show. His work is very subdued and thoughtful, and has a strong connection to family, nature, and his early life in Montana. So, I made a sort of lonely and quiet landscape. And I did look it up, you can see the Northern Lights in Montana. Inspiration and resources drawn from my old card design, if you could not tell.

They just said, "We need an attention-grabbing poster that is not necessarily strongly connected to the festival." (The festival puts on free outdoor concerts with grilling before performances.)

If you didn't know, a woman gets her hands and tongue cut off in this play. Sadly, I'm kicking myself because I had a better idea later on. Actually, this was just one of about five ideas, and probably one of my least favorites. Not that I don't like it, I just think it could be better. The typesetting turned out nice.

Everyone really enjoyed this poster, and it's one of my favorites. One veteran actor of the festival said it was the best theater poster she's ever seen, so that was nice to hear.

I made this as part of a t-shirt design I was working on for the festival education coordinator. The idea was to get Shakespeare a bit urban and have it say "Word." underneath.

Well, here's what I came up with. Sadly, the idea was scrapped. I did those shades in 3D just to get the angle perfect!

I've got literally like 50 more (less exciting) things, plus drafts of designs that were not chosen, but I think this is enough to showcase.
