New Rule Regarding Fanfics READ THIS!

Okay guys, new rule for all fanfics being posted on SOL:

All fanfics being posted on this forum must be at least 400 words in length, not including any author's notes at the beginning or end of the story.

Now before anyone starts bitching, keep in mind that 400 words is an insanely low requirement. Five or six medium-sized paragraphs should get you to 400 words in no time. This rule simply exists to curb the recent increase in "fanfics" being posted on this forum that are three or four sentences long. That's just ridiculous. If you can't even put more than five minutes worth of work into your story, then you have no business writing.

Also, keep in mind that the 400 word limit must be surpassed in your first post. In other words, don't post 16 words with a note saying "I add more later" or something like that. While you're free to update or expand your fanfic after your initial post, the very first chapter/draft/episode/whatever of your story must be a minimum of 400 words long.

From this point forward, fanfics that do not meet this requirement will be deleted immediately, and the author will receive one level of warning.

Thumps up? Anyway, that's reasonable for a fanfic. (Even though real fanfics should be somewhere around 10 pages.) So, how do you plan to punish those evil Ne'er-do-wells who attempt to break the new rule?

Warning levels don't actually do anything until we take action based on the level.

Alright. Anyway, what if they just post the idea? Like, a journal for them to update every once in a while? Would that be acceptable, or would that be exactly what your talking about?

Despite what you may have been led to believe, very few people on this forum are that interested in fanfiction that they get excited just to hear about the concept for a fic that someone is planning to write someday in the future. Unless it's attached to another fanfic, simply posting an idea for a fic is spam in my opinion.

Oops! Sorry! I already posted mine, and ive only done about 3 posts, the first one being a description. Its not compeltely short, its a few long paragraphs per post, but i did put some authors notes. Sorry ,i hadnt read this yet. I will not do it anymore. Thanks for posting this! It kind of makes it easier for me in a way.
