The almost-finished version of my Will Hoge piece. I just want to add a few more touches to the image and I'll finally be finished. I'll post up the final here when it's done. I know I know, it's got a lot of filters on it. It wouldn't have so many filters if the assignment wasn't to somehow fit 10 friggin' filters into an image. I was almost tempted to take a deduction on the grading for this part of the assignment just so I wouldn't have to put them in there. I hate them. A lot.

Here's my second image of the four image series. This one is actually complete. It's a picture of my sister, with different filters added to different versions of her. It's supposed to display her artistic side, or some shit like that. I just tried to make a clusterfuck of filters look as cool as I could.
Comments and criticisms would be fuckin' sweet.

Now I'm just mad that I don't have anything to criticize you about. Fucking prick.
Seriously, those filters fucking suck.

But this isn't too bad at all. But I'm wondering why legs is such a critical point in the art with your sister. The leeeeeggggsss.

Just some thoughts: Filters suck when you're forced to use them, but I don't think you should be letting that box in your creativity. Right now you're just sort of going, "Oh well, guess I gotta use another filter, let me stick a shitty texture on the background. This will never be good, so why try?" The graphic pen filter could so some sweet shit to the black area of the guitar and maybe the beard and hair if done right. Maybe do a color halftone on the whole image, then copy your original, clean source over the top with a darken blending mode. Fake a depth of field effect with Gaussian blur. Put color down on its own layer and then use the torn edges filter. Use liquify on the background to distort perspective. Make textures match the angle of the object you've added them to. There's a ton of ideas if you're just willing to think on making them work for you rather than hindering you, which I think is supposed to be part of the challenge for anyone with taste.
I like the composition with your sister, but don't have much to say. The repetition between your sister and the other legs is cool.

Yeah, the nose and mouth are two of the things that I'm going to be tweaking. I'm thinking I can do better with those. And good point on the filter thing, there are other ways that I could probably do better things rather than just slapping shit on there and calling it done. I would go back and fix more in terms of that, but I simply don't have the time right now. It's due Monday. I also forgot to mention that two of the four images that I'm working on have to be black and white, and the Will Hoge one is one of those, so some of my filter use is more limited because there's only so much you can do with filters and a black and white, completely drawn image. I'm going to go back to it on my own sometime though, because I've become really attached to this piece and see it as one of my best artworks. So yeah.
Glad you guys seem to like the one with my sister well enough. I'm not sure if I'm going to post the one of me or my mom, since those will just be rushed. We'll see how things go. If I hit some stroke of genius or something and really like how it turned out I might post it. Otherwise, no.

Here's the final version of the Will Hoge image. Finally got time in class to get it off the lab computer. As I said before, I didn't really have enough time to go back through the filters. I do have the original, unfiltered version though. I'm thinking about adding some color to that one in my free time.

I said that I wasn't sure whether or not I would want to submit the other two images from this project. I liked how the one of myself came out, kinda, so I decided to post both of them here. The one that's obviously not me is my Mom at a baseball game in Chicago. In the picture of me I'm driving and singing to the music.

I'm working on a concept for a new web design that I want to try when I get the time. I'll be moving away from tables this time, so yay! This is very rough and very much in preliminary stages. There's something wrong about it that I can't put my finger on, but I like the wing-like design of the navigation bar that I'm working on. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong/what to do to fix it? I do know that one thing that I don't like about it currently is that it's not centered. I just don't know how to take something like this and make it centered on a page either.

I've run into a sort of designer's block on my web site, so here's what I'm working on for fun in the mean time. This is only part of the whole, which will probably go down to somewhere around his knees. It's another piece that I'm doing in the same style of the Will Hoge picture. I'm thinking about doing a series of these:
