I must elaborate on Haruhi, because I will not have impressionable minds swayed to watching that show! It is my mission!
First off, Nam, if you didn't notice that show is desperate to be cute, you're either brain-damaged, or in denial. Or did that parapara dance ending get blocked from your mind? Same goes for the fact that you don't seem to see that Haruhi is done in dime-store anime style. Seriously, where the hell did that comparison to that Azumanga crap come from?!
Do you have any idea what a Mary Sue is? It's a super-perfect character that turns everyone's world upside down/life around. Such a suprise that she would replace a band member, and totally "rock" the house because she's so awesome that she's God... Seriously, she's FUCKING GOD! YOU CANNOT DEFEND THAT PLOT PREMISE! No one can! Friggin' Henry Kissinger couldn't make that sound good.
And by "what the SOS Brigade stands for is retarded", I mean, I KNOW what the hell it stands for, and it is a retarded joke that is funny only to those who need to be dead. When I first read it (the TRANSLATION of it), my exp
ression was akin to this...

And when I saw the anime, and saw the thing actually used, my exp

And in case any of you are wondering why I'm so against this show, by all means, watch it. Been awhile since I saw a show so bad I blurted out "this
sucks" while watching it. Still not over that... I have no tolerance for suck...
Now, let us purge this fecal show out of our minds with a recommendation of a fantastic piece of work!

Gungrave
A fantastic piece of sci-fi crime drama that never becomes a melodrama. You may have heard of the game its based on, but this is literally so good you'll forget the game exists while watching it. Hell, the anime seems to have gotten bigger than the game in terms of status and popularity. The characters are all well-realised, and the storyline is engaging. If I had to complain about one thing, it's that the main character can be a bit droll at times. But, the story and everything around it is so good, that really doesn't matter. With the heavy mafia element, it's definately a standout amongst a sea of typical anime. Although, if you were a fan of the game (which would be odd, considering the game itself doesn't seem that popular, at least outside of Japan), you'll be disappointed to know that it takes a long time ebfore Brandon becomes the series' signature protagonist, Beyond the Grave. The series has a large focus on Brandon's life as a hitman, and emphasizes his days with Harry. And frankly, I wouldn't have it any other way; it works so god damn well for the story...!
