From now on, I'll just post any of my sporadic, non-project artwork here.

Attached File  Doren2.jpg (288.83K)
Number of downloads: 2

Artwork of Lord Doren, the main "protagonist" from one of my major comic projects. He's a vampire, pulling more from actual vampire lore and superstition than the stuff in books and movies (i.e. the black skin, as it was believed that if a corpse's skin turned red, blue, or black, they were a vampire).

I put protagonist in quotes, 'cause he's pretty much a bad guy. I hope I conveyed that in the picture.

Also, after I designed him, I found out there's a race in Dungeons and Dragons with deatures similar to his (black skin, white hair, pointy ears). He's not one, and fuck Dungeons and Dragons.

Don't worry, this guy doesn't look Drow-ish at all. I like the design quite a lot, actually. The scarred/burnt flesh over his left eye is kind of a neat feature, and works well with the design. It's defining, but not overbearing, as they say. I dig the Soma Cruz-esque shawl, too.

Very cool picture, Shmeckie. Excellent job on the shading as always... And nice work with the blood splatters on the hand. They look very convincing.

Holy crap, Shmeckie is awesome. This picture is so cute! I like his smile! I just want to brush his mashmallowy little fangs with my old toothbrush forever and ever.

If you wanted criticism, the coloring is noticably airbrush-tastic. You might want to blend it or build your shadows a little more. That's it though, this is so freaking cool.

Nice work, Shmeckie. What a cute character.
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Yeah, I think he might be playing off Pineapple's comment...

Wow, this picture is amazing. I can only imagine how cool the story is... I mean, with protagonists this evil, it's too much fun to even think about how terribly awesome the actual villains are... Heh heh heh...

A cruel, sick, sadistic mother fucker, and that's all I'll say about that.

Is he as cute as Lord Doren who I didn't just scribble all over my copy of Pride and Prejudice?

I want to read Shmeckie comics. Are you gonna publish or put them on the intarweb?

Interweb, then publish if it gets popular enough (ala Penny Arcade, Megatokyo, P2P, and incomprehensibly enough, Jack). Right now, I'm saving my money for webspace, and I'm putting the finishing touches on the planning stages before I start scripting and drawing the first issue.

And... Er, I don't think so...

This was a doodle, done only in my hard-line pencil, with no blue sketching pencil.

Based around the same comic project. With the time to get them started drawing nearer, all I've been drawing lately is based on these projects.

This particular picture features Doren, and the comic's two main antagonists. The bigger character is Vlad "Tepes" Dracula, reborn as a Vampire, now existing with god-like power (he'll reign as the comic's most powerful character for most of the storyline), armies of supernatural creatures, and an overall domination of the world. The guy in the back is Gaius, a necromancing puppetmaster manipulating things behind the scenes with a fate-like influence, and that's all I'm saying about him.

Aside from some scratchiness, and some mistakes on Dracula, I think it turned out all-right.

Er... I move the pencil and shape pictures with it? There's no trick to it or anything...

So, no sketching? That was all freehand? Very very nice. Hell, even with sketching it looks really nice.

Sugoi! ^o^

Really great picture, man. Very nicely done. The fact that it was all freehand makes it even more impressive.
