Another great drawing Shmeckie! I think TigerEyes has the right idea involving the flesh tubes, you might add one more, but too many would take away from his menacing nature. If I might suggest an area you could try adding one to his right (his right, not your right) shoulder, having it go down to his upper arm. I think the flaming crown looks awesome, and the cracks will be fine once you give it some color. Their color should make it obvious that they're not veins, because I do admit that I at first thought that they were veins too...

All in all a jaw-dropping sketch, there's really not too much to critique on, only compliments. :)

The way they are currently detailed, they look exactly like veins rendered w/o shading. It's kind of hard to tell if something juts out or in unless there is some reference to gauge it.

You haven't told me how shading would help that problem.

See picture here.

It's a character design for a comic project I'm working on. I'm stumped as to where to go with it from here (I know what he's gonna look like, just a case of artistic block), so I figured I'd get some C+C on what I've got so far.

Well, How about slits in the eyes, a few more petruding veins, and maybe a firey cape.
Oh noes!! No one beleives I'm a girl! Guess I'd better piss and moan like a bitch until they beleive me!

We just established that those are cracks, not veins...

Shmeckie, I think it'll all be in the coloring. If you color them to look like cracks, then they'll be cracks! Simple as that. :)

Yeah, when he's colored in the comic itself, it'll probably be more apparent. I won't be coloring that picture, though, as its just a character design sketch in my sketchbook, which I use for, well, character designs for my comic projects.

Then just let the colorer know that they're cracks.

He knows. He brainstormed the character with me.

Cracks or no, this picture is still awsome. Will you be posting the fully colored picture after it's done?

When it's ready, it'll be up on the internet, so yeah.

It probably won't be ready for awhile though. I want every minute detail planned and ready for when it goes out.

Sounds like you're overdoing it a bit.

Good. If I don't overdo it, it becomes the next Megatokyo, or Twokinds, and I ain't havin' that.

I'd rather be obssesive than suck.

This is pretty awesome. Very cool pose so far and is very well drawn. The only thing that bothers me is that he doesnt have that thing on his left shoulder and he does on his right, but thats just me. Otherwise its great.

Yes he does. It's just off-frame.
