Okay, I know this has been done to death all over the internet. Thousands of people with no time on their hands researching and formulating hypotheses about what is really going on on the television show LOST. However I wouldn't mind knowing some of the opinions of the people on SOL as to what's happening, so this will be a topic where those who watch the show discuss each week's episode and what it means to those on the island.

I haven't payed much attention to the show LOST on ABC but I did view one episode. It was about a fat guy who literally had an imaginary friend, and told him to go get a chesseburger. The fat guy resists and shuts the windows and then out of nowhere hes in an island. Furthermore when they are near a cliff the imaginary friend tempts him to jump off. Then he has an imaginary gf, which I thought at the begining was a real woman, turn out I was wrong. I think I need to check out this show more often.

I would go to Wikipedia to see how the show is from a neatral point of view, but I want to see how you think the show is.

Very few things that have fandoms are impartial on Wikipedia. The only subjects with fandoms I've seen on there that are halfway reliable are 2/3 of the stuff on Fighting Games and Comic Books. Other than that, look elsewhere.

Yeah, I guess that you're right since the articles are written by the people who visit the website.

First off, 007, don't post here anymore. You have no idea what's going on in the show.

Second, I think I may have not clearly stated the point of the topic. It's supposed to be a topic where those people who watch LOST discuss what's going on. It's not solely for me, but for all those fans of the show to discuss with each other what they think about the show.

Well, I watch LOST, as it is a pretty good show, but the problem is that since I live in australia, you guys are most likely a couple of episodes in front of me, but the last episode that aired down here was 2 episodes after you find out wat happened to the other group, I've missed the 2 episodes after that one due to work, but I find the series quite interesting, but its also kinda strange. I like the whole fact that in each episode you follow a characters backstory just before they get onto the plane. The parts that I find strange in the show, is that in the first series there was a monster, but then in the second series there is a computer that controls the island (or something like that) but the whole concept of the 'Others' is quite good as you wonder, how did they get there, who are they, how long have they been on the island. I know that this sounds like a summary of the show, but I haven't really seen many episodes.

Also can anybody tell me what epsiode you're up to because the 3rd epsiode after you find out wat happened to the other group is on tomorrow, so I just want to see how far I am behind you guys

Tonight ABC will be showing Episode 19 of the Second Season, called SOS. I think just about anything in this topic, if anyone decides to discuss the show, could potentially be a spoiler for you. In regards to the monster and the computer, I will clarify for you about it, but only to where you are in the show, because I think you may have missed a couple of things about those two parts of the show.

The monster is what is often referred to as the "Security System," right now we believe that it is part of the Dharma Initiative (the organization that created the hatch) and was put on the island by the Initiative. The computer is another enigma of the show. Apparently you need to input the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 every 108 minutes or something bad will happen. No one knows what may happen, or if anything does happen, but they push the button anyway, just to be safe.

One question before I can tell you what you missed in those two episodes you didn't get to see: What do you mean by "find out what happened to the other group"? Are you talking about those people in the tail end of the plane (called Tailies by the fan groups)? Are you talking about those survivors that departed on the raft? Please clarify.

I've been meaning to check this show out for quite some time, but I never get around to it. I have a hard time getting into any of the major dramatic shows. I'm especially interested in Lost because Paul Dini, head writer/producer of the DC animated universe for years (Batman:TAS up through JLU) is a writer. I will say, though, that just reading things here and there on the internet that I come across, I am not entirely sure the writers even have a plan.
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

They really don't have a long term plan. The central focus of the show right now, a hatch they found, wasn't part of the story until halfway through the first season when they realized the fat guy, Hurley, wasn't getting any thinner. They had to come up with a reason why he wasn't getting any thinner, and came up with the entire hatch storyline, and thus most of the second season, in the process.

EDIT: However there are still some things that were introduced in the first season that still have yet to be brought to light. They don't have a storyboard for the next season or anything, but there are still some central objects that won't change from season to season. These are the important things that are central to the entire series.

I meant the second group, the 'Tailies' as you put it, that episode how it counts down the days till Anna fires the gun (I did that so that I don't create any spoilers for anybody who hasn't seen the show) Thats what I meant by the other group episode

Okay, one more thing: are the tailies still on their way to the side of the island that holds the other survivors?

I don't know if they did it on the TV yet, but my Uncle has season 2, and they did about half-way through.

Okay, if you've only seen one episode, that happens to be more than halfway through the second season, then why did you even frickin' post?

You don't see me posting in the Pen and Teller Bullshit thread. You wanna know why? I know nothing about the show except what I've read in the thread! Don't post if you don't know what the hell you're talking about, dumbass!

EDIT: @ That One Guy: Do you know what happened on the most recent episode that your uncle has?

Ah yes, and miles_prower, if you wish to see all the most recent episodes instead of waiting to get them in Australia, you could always purchase them off the iTunes store...

You mean the end of season 2? No. I have no idea. I've only seen what he's seen with me, and that's only like 4 episodes. He filled me in with a lot of the detail, though.

Well, I meant the most recent episode that you've seen, but I doubt that your uncle has all the way to the end of season two, unless they're stolen somehow...

He bought them off Itunes. :D

The most recent one I saw was where the 2 ends of the plane just met up. The old white guy and the black girl got back together...The details are kinda fuzzy, so...
