A character poem.

Blinding winds clash,
with our soaring skies.
An angel falls today,
hear her strained cries.
The birds stop singing,
the world stops spinning.
All is only lost,
when we're certain we're winning.
Nothing ever seems,
just to go our way.
I've learned this many times,
and I won't be okay.
These memories, they haunt me.
These rules I must abide.
I shelter myself in the darkness.
From everything must I hide.
Today is the day I figured,
why run when there's no hope?
But then I looked to the sky,
and realized I can elope.
So I ran on and on,
so I didn't have to face my past.
My breath was running jagged,
I was fading fast.
The pedals on the the flower fall,
and into the icy depths I see.
I have nothing left to stand for but pride,
because loneliness won't let me breathe.
