Okay, things I am capable of doing:
Things in parentheses are just examples of what cancould be done
-Menus, icons, form input (for things like search or logging in, this includes text boxes, combo boxes, radio buttons, checkboxes, etc.)
-Integration into web site (things you do on the toolbar can affect you at SOL)
-Sate indicator (i.e. button lights up when you have new PMs)
-Auto-updating of the software
-Web page update notification (flashing button or something when a certain page is updated)
-Dynamic content (for instance, I could have a menu with the last 10 most recent threads at the forum, and this would change on-the-fly all the time)
-Adding a button to the actual IE toolbar (up there with back, forward, refresh, mail, fullscreen, print, favorites, etc.) to tun it on and off
-Embedding web pages seamlessly (could be used for things not possible otherwise, like showing your current avatar or who is on the site or something, but doing things like that would mess with correctly showing who is on)
-IE on Windows only, sorry

The idea is nice, but doesn't this thing go on your browser? I use AOL, so I would have to use Internet Explorer as my browser to get these features, which I don't like doing, because then I have to switch between IE and AOL while talking to people... So, I don't really care, so I won't be using this thing, unless there's something that I find is fantastic about. However, I doubt that that could happen. So, I am neutral on this matter.

I probably wouldn't use it to be honest. I don't like my screen being clutered up with many things as space is limited enough with a stack of other stuff

I regularly swtich between Mozillia Firebird which has a build in search box anyway, so i can add more possibilites to it if i want (it's got google, dmoz and 'on this page' as standard') ... and IE.

Mainly, cause mozilla resumes downloads with my 2hour cutoff problem, it's handy. I did use getright but it adds something to the registery which triggers an IE bug causing a lot of small gifs on a page to fail. It's such a stupid bug.

I just thought of this, but it would be nice for future members who might like it. So, maybe it should ba an option. I think that's a good Idea.

Yea, depends, plus it could be totally customizable... I'm just agreeing with everyone else, don't really have a good opinion of my own...

Yeah, the bar wouldn't be for everyone, for sure, and I was thinking of other members. I think a Mozilla bar would come later on, it'd be simple to do, way easier than IE. If you don't like clutter, the bar could easily be turned on and off with the click of a button, but it kind of loses usefulness if you have it off a lot. And as for AOL... I think it might be possible to create something like an SOL toolbar, but I am not positive, and I think it would be difficult to do.

However, I think Mac users will be out of luck, at least for IE.

(The whole show goes a little too far a lot of the time, they're being sued by Asian-Americans for obvious reasons as well. BANZAI!!!)

Grr, do you guys know how frusterating it is to create icons?!

I would imagine that it would be very frustrating. Oh, and for AOL users, I think that the best that you could do is an optional toolbar, but you would have to build it into the web page or something like that.

16x16 icons for the toolbar, I'm not doing them from scratch or anything, but it's a hassle to get them to look good.

I really don't know, I'd need some kind of documentation on how to create them for AOL. I don't know if it's very easy. Both IE and Netscape/Mozilla have great documentation, IE is kinda difficult, but Mozilla is a breeze.

But AOL and especially Macs, blah.

Most of it works. The things that need work are basically the things that draw off of the web site. Any interface improvement suggestions are welcome, as are questions about what things do.

As you can see, it has both site-specific features, and general cool options that make it more valuable.
