What's up with all the hate for Shadow? I sincerely hope it's not just for his popularity. He's no Metal Sonic, but he's decent (sans the Maria brooding, but in Sonic Heroes, since there was none of that, it was all good). Can't see anything inherently wrong with him, and the Chaos Control is nifty.

I wouldn't say I hate Shadow, but I do feel that he robbed Knuckles of the official 'badass character' label, and for that he's never been a favorite character of mine. Plus, I mean, the DID die in SA2, so I don't know why Sega is cramming him into every Sonic game that comes out now... They kind of boned themselves on the whole continuity thing with that...

I wouldn't say that, so much as he took the anti-hero label, since Knuckles went completely good. As for Shadow's return, it' been hinted that either A.) he's a robot, or B.) Robotnik recovered (rescued?) him for cloning purposes, and really, can you blame him? That whole Chaos Control, ultimate lifeform thing would be pretty enticing to a genocidal madman with dreams of world domination.
