Lately we have had a swell of old topics being revived. Why this is, I don't know, but it's pretty annoying. When a topic dies, let it rest in peace, for the love of God.
In this forum, we have a warning system. You get five "points" against you before you're suspended or banned. You can get more than one point at once, however.
Anyway, from now on reviving a dead topic (defined simply as one that has not had any replies in a reasonable amount of time, which the moderators will determine -- a good rule of thumb is usually one month) for no good reason will result in a warning point.
To find out if a topic is dead, look in the "Last Action" column and check out the date of the last post.
That is all.

What if the topic IS revived, but the last post/comment was very relevant?
Like, say, (Hypothetically) it a Sonic Heroes strategy site, and no can figure a level out until 3 months down the line. The post the answer everyone's been looking for 3 months, and they gets points against them?

Right, one of the key parts in my post was "for no good reason." Certain threads are okay, but sometimes someone will revive a two-month-old topic to say "cool".
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Well, as a general rule we purge old warnings after a while. Three months is usually about right for purging.
