What's you're favorite distro for laptops? Specifically I've got a 2006 laptop that after careful deliberation and looking I decided to run Linux Mint 11 LXDE on. I'm very happy with the distro overall, it's much faster than XP could ever hope to be which is the only available license I have, and it can do pretty much everything I want it to with a large wealth of Ubuntu apps being a derivative. The only problem I've had is with steam which I can fire up but can't get anything to run, but considering I'm trying to run windows games through a windows app on linux you could expect some problems.. With wine and some tweaking I was even able to get Starcraft 1 and 2 running so I can play with my friends when I go over their house and can't reach my desktop.

I was just wondering what either of you two, or anyone else that decides to come onto the boards would suggest.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing some all important truth in the world. At that point I usually grab some chips and watch the people who have apparently found it tear each other apart in the super market over the now last bag of chips...

To be honest, whenever I install and fiddle around with Linux, it's always either Ubuntu or Fedora. I know that there are other distros that you can customize more and tailor more to your liking, but those take up way more time that I currently have these days. I'm less inclined to say Ubuntu these days though, because I'm not a fan of the new UI. If I were to install again (I might on my desktop machine) I might go with the latest Fedora or try rolling my own Arch Linux setup.
