If you get every single emblem in SA2 you can play a 3-D recreation of Green Hill Zone Act 1.

I tried the demo, and I'm impressed. It certainly felt old-skool. In fact, if I had any real complaint, it would be that it was a 500+MB download for ONE level. 500MB is a good day out in my neck of the woods. Kinda a bummer to wait a whole day with choked internet just to play ONE level. One good level, that gives me hope for the game, mind you, but still just one level.

Played the demo on LIVE tonight... I'm not really sure how I feel about it. The good news is that the gameplay feels remarkable similar to the original Sonic the Hedgehog (with a little bit of StH2 thanks to the spin-dash). The bad news is that the sole upgrade to that classic experience—the new high-res 3D graphics—is a double-edged sword; the higher amount of detail in the visuals looks quite nice when you're standing still, but it makes enemies and obstacles a little harder to identify when you're actually making your way through the stage.
I really don't know what else to write here... The demo is there is what it is. :/

"Unholy Hell- I've been waiting for this little guy to pop on November 1st- played the demo and I LOVE it! I hear silver's gonna be in it- a snap shot taken somewhere, should psot that up. Dunno really, though. Could be a huge fake.
"Anyways, I've loved most the Sonic titles, 'cept one. This Sonic Generations is far from that faitful game however, so no worries. Can't wait to really sit down and play it- the graphics look AMAZING. And I lvoe the fact they put both generations into one! Now I can play a 2D adventure when i get a little tired of the amazing 3D!"

I just bought the gama today. It's pretty fuckin' good! Thankfully, it's all Sonic action. All the other characters are in there just to be rescued. Don't dig tthe delay in the jumping during Sonic's 3D sections, but the self-referencing jokes are pretty funny, like the jokes in Sonic Colors. I gives it a B+.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose. -George Carlin.

Just got the game this week on a Steam stale, and from what I have played (only a couple hours), it has been very good. I love the level design in both 2D and 3D sections, challenges are nice as well. I found the PC version a little glitchy and controls are not as tight as I'd like, that may just be that I'm too used to Super meat Boy with it's goldy control. I was expecting a lot more hard rock and metal in the music area, but just a small point.

Agree with Kvitne. I picked this up about a month ago and although it has not managed to get me totally hooked, it has actually recaptured my interest in gaming. Considering my total apathy for it these days, that is a pretty powerful thing. The visuals on a PC at 1080p are absolutely stunning. Sega really got their act together on this one.

I had a fuckton of fun with this one, although the Egg Dragoon boss fight ended up glitching out on me no less than SIX FREAKING TIMES for some reason.
Other than that it was absolutely great and it's good to see that Colors wasn't a fluke.
Also the 3DS version is pretty good too. The level choice is a little less awesome (why Mushroom Hill instead of the memorable Ice Cap or Hydrocity, or Flying Batter for a kickass remix?) but still very good. The game plays with Classic and Rush styles instead of Classic and Colors, and the special stages (yeah, they're back) are a redesign of the Heroes style and are fucking awesome. No Super Sonic in the regular levels unfortunately though.
