Prolouge: A Curse
Lightning flashed. The rain pounded the roof. I sat at a brown table with my little brother, quivering with the thunder. Mom went to get the key to the storm celler. She feared a tornado was coming our way.
"Dylan, Christine, come on! We have to go!" Dylan and I jumped from our seats and ran outside, covering our faces. The wind began to get stronger, and we feared the worst. Mom lifted the door the the cellar like a bear and dashed in there, Dylan and I to follow suit. As soon as we got in, she closed the door.
"Mom, do you think we might die?" I asked.
She looked at me dissaprovingly, she looked at me with scared, tired, and angry eyes.
"We'll make it, God will protect us," Said Dylan. Being only nine, he had an emence vocabulary.
Just then, the cellar roof flew off, taking my mom with it.
"Mom!!!" we both cried. We both then ducked, when our Jeep fell where the cellar door was...
