Actually I'd start with C# over VB, purely because VB is too simple. It lets you do weird badshit, without even realizing it is weird until its too late. C# has the benefit of a friendly IDE and skills learned with C# transfer to Java almost one to one. With the big differences between the two being their respective libraries, and shit a beginning programmer won't ever care about. Anyways if you or anyone else needs help learning shit, I'd be glad to help.

I'm hoping to finally get my degree in Metallurgical Engineering next semester, so I can move onto pursuing a master's in Veterinary Science before the end of 2011. My long-term goal is to be the first vet to successfully breed a hyena with a duck, then write a book about it. Until then, I'm still writing the odd article for Out Magazine, although my writing has been less prolific since I started getting serious about training for my UFC rematch against George Sotiropoulos. It's going to be a tough fight, but my renewed relationship with Allah is helping to give me faith in myself as well as others.
Speaking of personal relationships, Thaksinchi (my Thai girlfriend, for those how don't know) and I have been getting along great. The trip we took to Chile together last month was really fantastic, and it was so rewarding to be able to lend a hand in helping free those trapped miners. My Spanish came in handy when I was asked to serve as a backup media coordinator for an on-site press release, and I was able to translate for some Canadian reporters who showed up. They said they were from one of only two news networks in the entire country, so that was pretty cool.
Most of you already know about my other charity work, but just for a quick update, my scheduled appearance at AIDS Aid is still a go. I'll be laying down some crazy beats with fellow musician DJ Khaled, so get your tickets early if you plan on joining the party come February! Otherwise, you can help out by buying a t-shirt online (all proceeds go to victims of AIDS, Super AIDS, and Ultra AIDS).
Meanwhile, I'm still fighting to keep my fledging chain of plus-size male clothing stores alive in this difficult economy. We took a pretty hard hit last year, but the entire Phat Looks team has just been so supportive and optimistic despite the Rockridge Bay store closing that I can't help but feel inspired. I sent out a message to all the managers just this morning telling everyone how excited I was for the chain's future that I'm going to press forward and follow my plan of trying to score a cross-promotional deal with KFC. Wish me luck!

Hey kids, remember to drink your drugs, stay in milk, and don't do school!

Eh, I was talking about the real basics, like setting and passing variables, loops, etc. But whatever, everyone has a different opinion on the best way to learn.
@MoA: I'm laughing so hard I'm crying.

Crap city? I'm curious. Care to elaborate?
There's really not much to elaborate on. It's crap because for all my high school years they only activities available to me was partying and drugs. The only real job opportunities I have is and hour and a half to two hour drive to Toronto; which should be only about forty-five minutes anyway but the road infrastructure is garbage.
Aside from that, it's also because my parents live here. Nothing against them personally, but a majority of my life is based on what my parents have done or people they know, I want to start fresh. Plus I don't have to play good little Christian boy either.
