Jesus fucking Christ guys, I don't even do any gaming any more and yet here I am still creating topics about the latest hot topic gaming accessory!!!!

So ranting asides, is anyone intending to buy the Microsoft Kinect? Has anyone here managed to have a go of it and what kind of experiences did you have with it? From what I've seen it looks pretty cool but at the same time I can't see any huge diversity which can be had. Plus it seems inevitable I'll try it while drunk and fall into my glass table, cutting major arteries and dying.

But really guys, tell me about your Kinect experiences.

The minimum distance of like eight feet for a living room killed that idea for me. My apartment with couch can't get much past 6 foot. Moving the couch takes an incredible amount of effort. Plus $150 is steep for what I am sure will amount to nothing more than a gaming novelty.

I might have thought about it. Then my xbox got stolen. Fuck if I care about it in the slightest now.

I'm down. So long as there's 8 feet between your TV and where we have to stand.

Yeaaa, why not. It seems cruel to send you to the airport at like 3AM.

Nothing worthwhile has come out for Kinect yet, and I'm not sure if there ever will be. For now I leave it on the store shelf.

I actually exercise on a fairly regular basis, so I don't need my video game console tricking me into getting up off my ass. To the contrary, the fact that I get to sit down for awhile is one of my favorite things about games.

Nothing but a cheap gimmick to chase Nintendo. I don't see it lasting long.

And they complained about the Wii having all these gimmicky games...I hereby dub it "Wii Syndrome."
