No brief game description here, only the latest gameplay video. You have to suck as a person to not like Donkey Kong Country, by the way. If you haven't played the original trilogy, do so soon.

I... I didn't want this video to end! Damn, the 21st of November cannot come soon enough! Hopefully, I'll actually receive money for my birthday this year. If I do, then I should only be six days late in owning this...

There are apparently over 70 stages confirmed so far according to one dude who posted this video elsewhere. I'm still sorta disappointed by the lack of being able to switch partners and the removal of a lot of the tag actions, but the gameplay seems to more than make up for that.

Yeah, this looks pretty great. Unfortunately, though, it will feature over two hours of unskippable cutscenes and the physics will be all wrong.
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Looks like there will be more to basic controls than just run and jump, sweet.

I know this was a joke, but I gotta say I have confidence that Nintendo wont let one of their most beloved franchises fail. Also, HA!

I have played and still own all three original Donkey Kong Country games and I still consider them some of the best gaming on the SNES. The visuals, in my opinion, were way ahead of their time and still hold up. I could remember that when I was younger I would rush through the aisles of Toys R Us to get to the SNES display and play Donkey Kong Country 1. I havent played the stranger games of the series like the bongo drum game, or many of the 3D games for that matter, but to me Donkey Kong has yet to fail. After seeing these videos it seems Nintendo knows this and is further rewarding dedicated fans.

Sway, you forgot that the game will also be only ten hours long and have grass that feels like pants.

I almost hope this ends up being shitty just so I can finally give up all hope for the retro revival fad and swear to myself that I'm never again buying another video game that isn't based on a brand new, 100% original IP made by a young company no one has ever heard of or knows anything about.

Unfortunately, everything related to DKCR I've seen so far looks really good and I can't help but have moderately high expectations for it. Oh well, this one is going on my Christmas wish-list either way, so if it bites then at least I won't have thrown away any money.

While we're discussing that video Marx posted, I have and incredibly minor, ultra-nitpicky complaint:

It annoyed me too at the beginning, but it wasn't bothering me anymore by the end of the video so I doubt I'll have a problem with his new voice.

Hey, nice to see another update on that.

What platforms (DKC) is this going to be for?

As it should be! Those other platforms dont deserve DKC!

@Kvitne: Amen. "Sega is bringing Sonic back"? They should have never lost him to begin with! Doing Sonic right should be a responsibility of theirs, and a reward to the fans who put up with their lousy profiteering bullshit for the last 5 years.

Welp, I reserved it. Gonna get the cover as soon as I pick up the game.

As Sway would say: Eat shit, Kvitne!

Due to a sudden positive change in circumstances, I'm just gonna buy the game with my own money and the go back to hoarding saving.

Lastly, gonna post this video here:

Ah. The good ol' random-people-stabbing-rage-inducing difficult fun that the SNES games were known for.

Is that something I say a lot that I'm not aware of?

Maybe it's just me, but I think you say it at least once a month. Plus, I think you're the only one who has ever said that on these boards.

I searched it and it came back with this as the only real result. Hmmmm! Quite an intriguing derail if you ask me!

Looks like Retro still really likes the ominous humming they used in the Prime games. Interesting choice for the more cartoony DKC, but I like it.

This is looking to be one epic return to old-school style DK.

Dunno if any of y'all know about this yet, but Nintendo trademarked "It's on like Donkey Kong".

Now that's a bunch of crap. I know damn well that the line has been said more than once. Maybe I'm mixing you and AFTER together and AFTER's said it a lot on his board. If that's true, then I don't know how I got you two mixed up... If that's not true, then I don't know what to tell ya. Maybe I'm just insane, but in the uncool way.

You just got me wondering about the placement of that theme in the game. I'm wondering if that's going to be the overworld or boss theme.

It'll probably be for the fire stages. You know, like it usually was in Prime? I mean most of the stages shown in this trailer are lava and fire based.
