What inspired this? Its not the first sprite sheet I've seen that's new from the ground up and is the same scale as the 16-bit sonic sprites, but....
Whatever for? It still looks way too much like the original to be exciting, and you already have a perfectly good sprite sheet made by Sega for your fan game needs. I suppose you could have made these possibly just as a test of skill or out of boredom...

These are just quill edits or something, good job I guess. And then you ripped some stuff. Aren't there several websites full of ripped sonic sprites from all the games?? Not really sure what you're trying to accomplish here.

Ha, I love how on all of these sheets of sprites they demand credit for ripping them. Congratulations, you copied and mutilated images of copyrighted media. I'm gonna go down to the local printshop and xerox a few hundred pictures of the Apple logo and pass them around to people with my contact information on them. And at the bottom in bold font, a small sentence: "Owned by Apple, but don't forget to give ME credit for painstakingly xeroxing them for you"

@ Gold & Sourge: However if you where smart enough you would know I am referring to the fact I want credit for the rips if they are used. Not the freaking sprites themselves. I worked hard on ripping those damn sprites so the LEAST anyone could do is give me credit for my time and effort. Don't know if you've noticed but that is how Fangamers, Comic makers and generally how most people who use ripped sprites ARE.

@Green: I rip sprites that haven't been ripped yet. I do check you know, my sheets are even on TSR.

He wasn't saying that you expected credit for the actual sprites, but that it's retarded either way. Pretty sure he's smart enough.

Judging by how you've presented yourself thus far, I think you yourself are "smart enough" to know better than to talk like that.

In all seriousness though, I'm more on the side of the sheet itself, not where it's used. It's fine to ask for credit, but how are you gonna know if they used your sheet specifically, and didn't rip the sprites themselves? I'm not new to ripping sprites, by the way.

I, Like most people. Go by sheer trust. Anyone can claim anything as their own as long as they don't get caught. So It's really down to trust. If I watermarked it in any way, then they'd be rendered useless. So please care to elaborate on why you think that me wanting credit for my time and effort is at all in the slightest wrong.

So to better clarify my previous statement: You are demanding credit for ripping off images of a copyrighted character, which is incredibly easy to do and anyone with a computer and some free time could learn to do. Congratulations, here is your cookie:

Uh, no, I'm pretty sure he's serious. You're acting like it's such a big deal when ripping sprites is piss easy and a monkey could probably do it if you taught him/her how. There are several ways to rip sprites, and with the tools you get all of them are incredibly easy. Emulators and tools are even better nowadays being able to look through locations in a ROM rather quickly, as well as pulling up specific sprites or easily removing layers in comparison the more painstaking screen capturing and ROM scanning methods used before. The people who make the tools have the hard jobs now, you don't.
