Hahahaha, I love this guy. This actually sounds like an interesting idea.

I can't offer you much in terms of help because I'm busy as hell all the time now, but I would definitely like to see a giant chinchilla as a boss, in space, taking a cosmic dust bath.

yeah thats the idea, now i need the sprites to implement it.

what im saying is if there are sprites and good ideas we can use them.

its been a one-man endeavour so far, and i can use the extra help

and if you guys want a bad ass sonic game to add to the roster im gonna need all the resources and help i can get, i'll take all the useful input out there, thank you.

here are my ideas

im thinking you can purchase units, special moves, more units, levels, characters
such as the boss battle, instead of just defeating them you can use them
like the nuke sub, you will face both shadow and the sub, having to defend from both shadow's upclose attacks and the subs long range capability, also space is accessable from nearly all levels so depending on the resources you've acquired you can perform various attacks with more or less effect with the move of your choosing
so lets say you have the MOBILE SATELLITE, you can attack an advancing force from any part of the map, if you have super and you're being attacked from space you can fly up there and blow stuff up, being attacked by AA Guns on the way up. Also the things you acquire will affect the outcome of the story, cutscenes, boss battles and likewise. I'm trying to offer a variety of different elements both inside and outside of the gameplay.

i have alot of ideas and im not to particular on releasing any demos until we have something worth value, you know a couple levels and cutscenes will do.

the more help we get the better this will turn out for everyone playing in the long run so im looking to you guys for the remainder of the work out there which is general ideas for the story i've got the programming in the bag for the most part, but i'll take whatever i can get

I explained pretty clearly that the nature of your game didn't matter to me nor does it matter in the context of the forum's rules. What does matter however is this one thing:
You didn't adequately explain either the nature of your game nor did you provide any concrete example of the game in action so that people could discern what it was simply by observing the context. That is the only reason your topic was closed and not because I have some problem with you or what you were making. I saw the way the thread was going and I made a judgement call in the hopes that YOU would take action and make a post that would demonstrate those qualities, but instead you chose to make an ass out of yourself.

A. I asked nicely. I asked you to remake the topic when you had the materials necessary to make a topic useful. Closing a topic is not a disciplinary action. As for the 15 minutes, that was a charity. I was going to simply close your topic again but decided to give you some time to fix it instead since you were online.

B. The mere suggestion that I would be envious of a project that has no status and for all intents and purposes exists only in your mind is hilarious to me. The kinds of project I've worked on have always been much higher profile than this sort of thing.

C. The don't incessantly ask for more proof bit is to inform newer members of etiquette rules. It has always been a judgment call on the part of admins to determine whether a topic has enough material in it to constitute a devoted topic. Going by both the content in your post and the response it was getting on-site, yours didn't.

D. I did give you polite input. I told you that you'd be allowed to have a topic if you posted a new topic containing your choice of either a better description of your game or pictures of gameplay and not of cut-scenes. And I'll acknowledge that I'm somewhat harsh on that because I am the kind of person who insists that cutscenes should be an after-thought to a good game, not a game being an afterthought to good cutscenes.

E. Ouch, now my feelings are all hurt. :'(

I didn't demand more proof. I would have been perfectly content for you not to post any more proof and simply abstaining from talking about your game until you felt like including some useful information. It's a sort of give and take thing. If you want to talk about your game on SFGHQ, you have to give something... namely adequate information.

And no, you didn't put enough info to have any kind of general idea. All you said was "Open project, give me ideas" and posted screenshots which set mood but not concept.

No, what you posted wasn't even enough for me to discern what GENRE of game you want to work on.
