Whatever you do, please read my first post before you comment.
Trust me, I've looked everywhere, and there never seemed to be any explanation. Even Nintendo Power magazine didn't have an explanation.
I finnaly found some reasons on Sonic Wiki.
They said it had the same problem with the other sonic 3D games, it was uncontrolable and unplayable.
I really have no idea what people are talking about when they say this. Ocassinaly I found the controls to be unresponsive, but I usually had no problem with it. I also heard that Silver was a downfall too. They said he looked like a cockatoo, his voice was annoying and his levels were.. negative. I agree Silver looks like a cockatoo, and his story is pretty boring and hard, but his voice is awesome and he has every right to be in the seris!! I mean, The lives system is fustrating, and the game is very hard to me, and second player mode is pretty bad. But besides that, I think it's a pretty good game. Even my brother, who disagrees with me about everything, didn't know why people were complaning, he thought it was a good game.
So tell me, why is this game horrible in your eyes? Maybe the downfalls with this game aren't in my copy...

Why would Nintendo Power talk about the quality of Sonic '06? Unless I'm mistaken, the only two things Nintendo had to do with that game is the trophy for Silver and the instrumental version of '06's main theme, His World, both of which appeared in Brawl.

The game is considered the worst 3D version ever made because there are SOOO many things wrong with it. I have only played ten-twenty minutes of the game as a whole; two-player mode, story, everything. And it SUCKED.

The number one thing wrong with it is the level design (especially for Sonic). You'll run down a vertical stretch of road at hyperspeed, near the end of the level, and once you reach that end of road, you FALL THROUGH IT. That is a great indicator for a POORLY CONSTRUCTED GAME. Immediate turn off for me. Don't forget about wacky camera controls, unresponsive controls (as stated above), etc.

Silver was an unneeded character. Whoever heard of a hedgehog character in a SONIC game that is slower than an old man using a walker? And for your argument, Silver'sfollower, you're giving props to him only because of his voice, despite all of his faults as a character? Sorry to say that you have no real clue as to what you're talking about.

With that said, I think we can all agree that Sonic '06 is still the biggest disappointment for the Sonic franchise.

Well, I hear you, but like I already said, I never had any problem with glitches. I almost never fell through the level, only once or twice.
And about Silver, I don't like his gameplay either, it's way to slow and the controls are confusing. I only like his chracter and his storyline. Belive me, Silver's story is a letdown for me too.
So is there anything else besides glitches and Silver that make this game suck?

They had an article about Sonic Colors, which was to be released on Nitendo Wii and Nitendo DS. *sigh* And the introduction talked about the latest dissapointing Sonic games, and that included Sonic 06. They didn't say anything about it, they just said it was a majour dissapointment to fans.

You were just told: Gameplay, glitches, character choices and story. These issues make or break a game. A single character that YOU like does NOT redeem the game as a whole.

Sorry, but again, I seem to be misunderstood.
In My Opinion, I love Silver, but I also don't like his storyline, so I am counting it as a downfall for this game. I don't judge Silver based on his bad storyline. I never had a problem with glitches, so I guess that makes the game better in my opinion. I see no more reason to have this topic open.

Enjoying a game despite game-breaking glitches means you have horrible standards. No gamer should have to fight bad programming just to beat a game.

I'll say that there's at least one decent thing in 06 apart from the music. Robotnik looks awesome. (it's not enough to save this game though)

Eh, Gold's got it covered.

'06 is bad not just because of the load times, awful story, shit controls and hit detection, and all the rest. It was Sega's best chance to get back to at least Sonic Adventure levels, and they blew it, plunging the franchise down to a level no one thought it could reach. The game is tedious, frustrating, and glitchy, and Sonic should be none of those things. If you like it, great, but I've been playing Sonic since the beginning, and that game is not Sonic.

I like Silver's overall chracter, his personailty, what he is on the inside, what charcteristics make him who he is. Do you get it now, or do I have to tell you a million more times?

And as for you Gold, I keep telling you, when I play the game, I don't encounter glitches. Do you get it!? The glitches aren't a problem for me! The glitches don't pop up a lot for me! Why can't you get that through your skull?
I understand why you all hate this game, but I don't, because Silver's chracter is awesome, and the glitches leave me alone!

2. The overall story
3. the difficulty
4. The load time
5. how long the game is
6. Multiplayer

I'll admit, this wasn't the best sonic game, but it isn't all that bad.

I'm just gonna leave this topic as is. It's pointless arguing with kids these days. They have no idea how to criticise a game or even understand criticism.

Congrats, you have the hots for Silver and somehow managed to avoid glitches. Your opinion doesn't overshadow cold, hard facts.

I just realized that the topic title doesn't fully spell out disappointment. Actually, in the direction it was headed, it would've been a mispelling anyway, but, as is, she makes it seem like Sonic Team meant to diss the fans with this game.
