According to the recent critics, Galaxy 2 is now second to Ocarina of Time (at one point it was higher). What do you guys think?

To be honest I haven't played enough to know.It has started out pretty fun, nothing truly fantabulous; though this may change as the game goes on.

Fighting on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

I'm gonna be getting the game sometime soon. I considered the first game to be one of the best 3D platformers ever and if the sequel is better, which it looks to be, then that's awesome.

Ocarina of Time, while great, is almost as overrated as Final Fantasy VII. In fact, if I hadn't played it before I learned of all the love it received on the web, I probably wouldn't have played it, like with FFVII. Can't even say that my liking the Zelda games would've got me to play it since that game is what got me into the Legend of Zelda series in the first place!

I don't know anything about the sequel, but I didn't think the first was anything special. Is there something in this one that would change my mind?
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

I mostly feel the same way. The first 'Galaxy was definitely a good game, but it didn't cause me to have a braingasm of unfathomable ecstasy as it apparently did for most critics. Truth be told, I found it a little underwhelming... Maybe my tastes are simply changing as I get older, but SMG is the first mainstream Mario game since Mario Bros. 3 that I didn't bother to complete 100%. I had fun playing it and all, but after I beat the final boss, I just lost interest in the game and had no desire to go back and get all the extra stars.

I suppose I'll probably get Galaxy 2 at some point in the future if only because a new Mario game is pretty much guaranteed to be at least decently entertaining. Unless I hear that this one is a huge improvement over the original, however, I don't care enough to run out and buy it right away.

SMG did have a lot of homages to SMB3, but I earnestly doubt that'd contribute to you not finishing it...

As for how much better the game is than the original, this person proclaimed SMG2 to be the best platformer ever. Of course, this guy called the original game his favorite platformer until the sequel came out, so, as a person who wasn't that fond of the original game, his opinion may not mean much to you. I didn't read anything other than the opening paragraphs and his list at the end in order to not spoil the game for myself, so I can't say for sure that this game offers any drastic changes to the gameplay and level design.

His list kinda bothers me because I think the 2D and 3D platformers are so different that they shouldn't be compared to eachother.

Like I've said before, Galaxy makes me queasy so I'll probably wait until this game either drops way down in price or I get a chance to play it somewhere before I commit myself to buying it because I don't want to waste $50 bucks on something I might never be able to play for decent periods of time. The camera seems more steady, but I want to wait and see for sure.

I'm a binger, I can't just play a game for an hour at a time, you know? It gets me all agitated so I still haven't finished SMG.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing some all important truth in the world. At that point I usually grab some chips and watch the people who have apparently found it tear each other apart in the super market over the now last bag of chips...

Mario Galaxy was overhyped IMO.
It was essentially like any other Mario game, just in 3D with a couple of "spacey" gimmicks.

Lol... Mrax you know why I did this, or at least should.

I'm with the undecided crew on this game. I'm not sure if it's really worth the full brand new price for a game there isn't really a solid critique or review on. Maybe when the price drops a couple of bucks it may be considerable.

I almost had the game today. If only anybody disliked the game enough to actually return it to my local Game Stop so I could buy it used... Well, I can be patient until I get an extra $13. I'll have it soon enough.

Really, I don't like Super Mario Galaxy. I like all the other Mario games though. I played 1 & 2, and yet I haven't found It very good. Hey you know what can beat Ocarina Of Time though? Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Online. Like my idea? Well If you don't, reply to this reply.

A Zelda MMO based on the sentient beings from OOT and MM would have 7 races to choose from:

Human, Hylian, Deku Scrub, Goron (possibly male only?), Zora, Shiekah (possible ninja?), and Gerudo (female only; thief). If we included all of the races from the games that can be seen as having some sort of combat ability, we can add races like the Rito (though, wouldn't this technically be under Zora?) as well. Then we have subclasses from each of those races.

Oh, and I need to go find something confirming that, aside from the pointy ears, the main difference between Humans and Hylians are the Hylians' ability to use magic.

Edit:

Also, yes, that is a dumb game idea.
