Found out about this cool little game on Destructoid at this article: http://www.destructo...ed-172811.phtml

Would've started this topic for all of those games, but A.R.E.S. is the only one that had a playable demo, as far as I can tell. Plus, to me, it looked the most fun, so it having a demo is great because it allowed me to see if it was really as awesome as it appeared and I'd hoped.

IMHO, it was. Here's hoping it remains good throughout its entirety. The game's really purdy and the gameplay's similar to a classic series Mega Man game, although it mixes a few things together and introduces other new elements. The difficulty is noticeably lower, although I imagine (and hope) that'll be jacked up a lot as the the player progresses through the game and that the game will have multiple difficulty settings later on. The one boss fight the demo was pretty fun, although easy, and from the trailer, it looks as if all of them will be that way.

Only problem I had, aside from not being able to play with my 360 controller, which has more assignable input than what I was using, is not being able to stop so I could aim from where I was standing, like Bass/Axl from the classic series and X games respectively, but the trailer for the game shows that this is possible. I guess the tutorial extends past the first level because there was nothing explaining how to do it, if it was even possible in the demo. I do have to admit that being able to move while shooting does feel pretty good when I can don't need to aim, though.

The trailer.
The game's website. Demo's also here.

Overdue Edit:

Whoops, forgot to edit this and say that somebody pointed out the one thing I missed a few days ago. Now that I know how to aim, I have no complaints.

I remember playing the demo to this wile it was called Trashman. I need to install it again to get more specific points on it, but I remember it being quite fun.

Fighting on the internet is like running in the special olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.
