"Morning, Mama!" Cream greeted as she came down the stairs and into the kitchen. She was wearing her orange pyjamas and carrying the tired Cheese and Chocola in her arms.
"Good morning, Cream!" Vanilla replied. She was sat at the table in her usual clothes with a mug of tea held on her lap. "And Cheese and Chocola, of course!"
"Chao," the twins said together in mid-yawn, their eyelids dropping.
"Do you want to have your breakfast?" Vanilla asked. Cream nodded while the Chao twins muttered incoherently. "Then we can go to the pool at the hotel."
At the word ‘pool’, Cheese and Chocola leapt out of Cream’s arms and flew happily around the room, crying "Chao, Chao! Chao, Chao!" happily. Cream laughed cheerfully at them.
"But we’ll have to get there before ten, because Omo's going to be waiting for us." Vanilla warned. The atmosphere in the room got deadly serious; Cream stopped laughing and narrowed her eyes. The Chao twins stopped dead in their tracks. Vanilla, knowing what was about to happen, jumped out of her chair and into the living room. As soon as she sat back down, she could here Cream and the Chao darting around the kitchen at top speed, filling their bowls with cereal, pouring milk on top, getting their hot chocolate (and their prebiotic drinks), eating ridiculously fast, running upstairs, pulling on their clothes and bowties, and presenting themselves to Vanilla.
"We’re ready!" Cried Cream.
"Chao!" Cheese and Chocola said approvingly.
"Alright" said Vanilla, smiling at their cheerful faces. "Just let me finish my tea."
And, with that, their smiles vanished and eyelids dropped.

"Cannonball!" Cream cried as she jumped into the pool.
"Bullets!" Joined in Cheese and Chocola as they jumped in too.
"Anything?" The waitress asked Vanilla, who was sat fully clothed on a deck chair under an umbrella.
"Cream!" She called. "Cheese! Chocola!"
The three stopped playing sharks and looked up.
"Do you want any ice cream?" Vanilla asked, although she knew that it was a stupid question.
"Yes, please!" The three screamed excitedly.
"Alright," Vanilla began. "I’ll have a vanilla-"
"Cookies ‘n cream, please!" Cream cried.
"Chocolate chip, please!" Chocola cried.
"Cheese, please!" Cheese cried.
"I don’t think they do cheese flavoured ice cream, dear." Vanilla said, but the waitress interrupted her.
"Actually, we do." She said, winking.
