So what are you thoughts so far on what's been released at this year's Nintendo Media Summit? What id you like to see and what didn't you? Anything your still hopeful to see?

Holy shit, Metroid: Other M comes out on the 27th of June?! Yes, oh yes! That day cannot come soon enough. I'm sort of worried about is them fucking up on "humanizing" Samus and giving us too much story while forgetting what makes Metroid games awesome, but I'm going to remain optimistic since there hasn't been a bad Metroid game thus far.

Super Mario Galaxy coming on the 23rd of May is also great news as well.

I read about what time of year they were coming out on Kotaku/Joystiq/Destructoid earlier today, but saw nothing of actual dates. Strange how I haven't actually heard anything of the Nintendo Summit. I'll need to go check this out.

I'm extremely excited for Monster Hunter Tri coming out. I'm glad Capcom decided to shift consoles. The Wii needs a good title like this.

Eh, I was pretty much done with Monster Hunter after just one of them. It gets really really repetitive and boring really quickly. The entire game is one giant grind and fights take waaaaaay to long to finish considering the monsters only use one or two attacks. If it moved at a much quicker pace and had online play where it could be kind of like Phantasy Star Online: Medieval Edition I think it would be a much more enjoyable game.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing some all important truth in the world. At that point I usually grab some chips and watch the people who have apparently found it tear each other apart in the super market over the now last bag of chips...

It's because of the time it takes to improve that make it a challenging game. But I suppose not a lot of people appreciate that factor. The PSP versions of the game do move at a faster pace than the PS2 title. Also, Monster Hunter does offer online play, and so will Tri, which is the major factor in my fanboyism at the moment.

I actually played a PSP one, Freedom Unite to be specific.

And no, taking time to improve is not fun, completing a challenge to improve is fun. The reason it takes time to improve is because it takes you so much time to get good enough to complete the challenge. Monster Hunter isn't hard though, it's just tedious as all hell. See, the monsters aren't hard to kill, you'll just die instantly if you don't follow a brain dead pattern of dodging/blocking until they attack and then getting a few attacks in which would normally be fun if it didn't take fifteen minutes to kill any lizard bigger than a raptor. Everything in the game just takes way to fucking long to kill, and that's my problem. Enemies should be challenging to kill, not tedious as fuck.

That looks awesome. I can't wait. ... But I still need to beat all the other Metroids. D: The first one I ever played(and really got hooked on) was Super Metroid but I never beat it.

I was reading where some fights monsters will take 45 minutes to beat. That made me lose a lot of hype I had for the game. Though it will be worth it for the black classic controller and the 500 Wii points.

I wanna punch the person doing the camera work since it was really hard to see for the most part, but what I could see clearly looked awesome. That voice sounds a little unbefitting for Samus and hearing her say "Mother... Time to go!" sounded really awkward, but everything else was good.

New video friend sent me:

It mostly focuses on the combat once again, but it shows glimpses of what the player will be doing when not in combat! Hearing "Mother... Time to go!" still sounds awkward...

What I'm wondering about is, how will the game control? Super Metroid used all the buttons available on the Snes. A Wiimote doesn't have that many buttons.

Super Metroid used all of the buttons on the SNES controller, true, but Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, both on the GBA which had 2 less buttons, were able to compensate and have the player be able to do everything they were able to in Super in terms of controls. Running, however, could only be accomplished via moving in any direction without stopping for a prolonged period.

Also, that article I posted describes to an extent how the game controls. The only thing I can say that I don't like is how you're unable to move while in first person perspective, although, since this game doesn't use the Nunchuck attachment in anyway, I can understand why you wouldn't be able to seeing how awkward it'd be to try to move with the D-pad with the controller turned vertically and the possibility that the D-pad may be used for scanning or something.
