Seems every country in the world has finally caved in to pressure from rights holders. Capitalism is the primary economic system the world uses so by that we all know that we can't have great things, and get them free. Yet I still find myself disappointed. Some of my interests have been developed because of someone giving a recommendation, me researching whatever the recommendation was, downloading some content, and then really getting into whatever it was (film/tv series/etc).
I'm really not sure where I sit with the filesharing debate but I feel less inclined to continue buying creative content. I'm not suggesting that I will turn to pirating things instead, it's more that my interests are slowly being cut away and so are some of my avenues for finding new ones.

This is why I have stopped using file sharing programs and switched to file hosting sites. Never hear anyone getting in trouble with those, well me personally anyway.

Seriously, companies are getting WAY too much power these days. It's not that I don't think taking what the company needs to continue is right, but seriously? The Ranma 1/2 series? THE ONE THAT CAME OUT IN THE EIGHTIES? Why do you care? You've already made your profits! WHY. DO. YOU. CARE? You can get it REALLY fucking cheap, too. Just like Back to the Future.

I don't get what's so special about this particular case. People get in trouble for it all the time...
It's not often I hear of cases in Japan, and the list is fairly trivial for each. Combine this with the change of laws they have coming... I don't really hold high hopes for the future of digital media or even the internet lasting as good a way to find things outside our usual interests.
