Well, after asking about what people felt the contents of a 539MB .txt would be in my status box, TOG responded "The word 'PENIS' copied and pasted 500,000^10 times." For shits and giggles, I did just that. Since 500,000^10 is a pretty fucking big number, I knew it'd be way larger, but I was unsure of how much larger. My first HDD had somewhere around 70 MB left (I seriously need to remove some of the shit I have on it). I decided to let my program run until it was finished, but I soon realized that it might use up all the remaining space on that HDD if I did. Around the point when my HDD had only around 1GB of space left, I wondered what would happen if I allowed it to continue growing. Then, something strange happened after I got that message about having too little space: I began getting space back at an incredible rate. I don't know what was causing it, but I'm assuming that it was either my computer deleting the still growing file or it making space by getting rid of old files, files that I actually wanted or needed. Worrying that it was the latter, I deleted the file and ended up with 70.4GB of free space again. I think this may slightly more than what I had before I acted like a dumbass, which means that I did lose something, but if it really was at/around 70.4GB, then it's likely that the PC was deleting the file. That, or I acted quickly enough to not lose much (I hope).

So, anyway, just how damn big do YOU think the file would've become? I'm willing to bet that it would've at least made it to around 300GB if I had the space to let it keep running.

Fill one entire page up with that word copied and pasted over and over again, then check the file size of the resulting document. Then count how many times you had to type the word "PENIS" to fill that page. Divide that number by 500,000^10, then multiple the resulting number by the number of bytes that comprise the single page. Boom, you've got your final file size (or at least a reasonably close approximation).
