Here comes 4Chan. Once again they fuck with someone because they can. I really wish people would stop referring to them as anonymous or hackers.

Yeah Glenn Beck is a douchebag.

You really can't blame all of 4chan for this, it's really only one section that starts all the crap.

I'm not really seeing how Glenn Beck is a douche or how he deserves this. He yells at all the fucking retards of the world, all 95% of it. Whether or not he does it in a polite or politically correct way isn't a big deal, he goes after idiots and makes them look like the idiots they are.

Unless he's gotten worse in the past couple of months, I haven't watched his show in a while. I highly doubt it though.

He's on FoxNews, the same shitty channel that says Obama and Communism as much as possible. They deserve what they get, although media here in general is awful. FoxNews is just the pinnacle of awfulness, lies, and scaremongering.

That's where I'd have to disagree with you. I don't like all the stupid bashing of Obama, but all the stupid unwarranted praise the other news channels give democrats is just as bad. Like, Ted Kennedy was a freaking asshole, and yes it kind of sucks that he died, but you don't need to go and praise him and dedicate shit to him. I mean he tried to pass something on his death bed to make it so the State government couldn't appoint a Rep when a Rep dies so that they wouldn't lose that seat to a Republican.

That's just freaking low, and all the other channels are just looking at it with candy glasses because Kennedy was A:dieing, and B: a Democrat when he did it.

I did say all our media channels suck, didn't I? FoxNews is just particularly bad in my view, for reasons such as this case:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Akre

Glenn Beck is a douche, though. For instance, the health care debate: a few years ago he was talking about how "the healthcare experience nearly kills you." A few years later when getting on to FoxNews, during this health care debate, his story is: "why would you want to ruin the best health care system in the world"?

Seriously, our news channels just plain disgust me. None of them strike me as being in any way reliable.

(PS. I think that was Glenn Beck anyway, pretty certain).

Hah, fair enough. Been a long day, I somewhat failed to interpret :)

I can agree with you on that. While I know the constitution is meant to protect free speech, I also think it is incredibly dangerous (and against the spirit of it) to present something as an informative news program when it may actually contain a series of lies/mistruths/misrepresentations. It worries me a lot.

I'm sure Glenn Beck is devastated. Whatever will he do while pissy internet geeks (who heavily skew left, making the Republicans look all the better by comparison) make fun of him on an internet site well known for producing pure and utter idiocy. I'm sure he'll have to settle for all his money and ratings... Poor bastard...

Also, Requiem has obviously not watched Fox News. His view of it makes me LOL. Not quite ROTFLMAO, but LOL all the same.

I'm ever-so curious as to where you get that shit, though. And please don't try to describe Beck, O'Reilly, or Hannity's shows as hard news programs. I can't take the damage to my spleen that laughter will cuase.

Fuck you, Shmeckie. You just can't accept the fact that everyone with half a brain can see how idiotic Glenn Beck and his 'friends' are.

Oh well isn't that cute? And how are he and his mysterious "friends" idiots, hm? Because he disagrees with you? Foregoing the fact that, despite his performances and exagerrations, the man at least does his research (and was one of the first people to bring to the public the Van Jones tapes), do tell, TOG. Should be interesting. :)

Because he disagrees with me? Hardly. Hell, I'm not even into politics. The guy has a total douchebag personality, first off, which is what pisses me off the most. I just can't stand people like that. And secondly, he can't go two minutes without contradicting himself. Like Requiem mentioned, the guy dedicated a whole segment to showing how 'bad' the medicare system is in America when he was sick, and then as soon as he gets better he goes off lecturing people about how "America has the best health care in the world." Or how about when he called Obama a racist, and then no more then ten minutes later said "I'm not saying he doesn't like white people"? And then when he's confronted about his contradictions, makes an even bigger fool out of himself. He's a self-righteous assbag, and refuses to see any points other than his own. Get your head out of his ass, and while you're there, go ahead and pull his out too.

Hahaha! Oh, you were serious?! Let me laugh harder. HAHAHAHAHA!

Why am I laughing? Because I know the truth, my friend. I watch his show. I am now going to explain a few things to you, and in doing so, demonstrate to you why you look so ridiculous to me right now that I cannot help but act like an ass. It's just too funny:

First and foremost, Requiem is quoting a paraphrase he barely remembers. I would love to see a clip. Meanwhile, Beck has stated on his show that America's healthcare system is far from perfect, but that Obama's vision for it would be just plain horrible. It sucks, but compared to the rest of the world, it's damn fine. Now, unless you can prove anything you're citing, you're just going to look stupid.

Me? Being someone who IS into politics (which should tell you right there things aren't going to look good for you) I can back up what I say! For instance, did you know that the majority of what Glenn Beck says and does on his show is intentionally over-the-top for the purposes of entertainment? Did you know the man also does stand-up comedy? Betcha didn't. While he's serious about his beliefs he states, when he starts, say, dousing someone in fake gasoline on his show and dangling a match over them to illustrate a point, you're obviously being given a performance, here.

And unlike yourself, at least the man forms his opinions based on facts:

Quote

Is he promising to transform us into something unrecognizable to most Americans, but not unrecognizable to Hugo Chavez: "Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right!"

Is it un-American, hateful or outrageous to sincerely and honestly ask this question when the communist president of Venezuela says that?

And in the man's own words:

Quote

This week, I'll be giving you some of my opinions — and they are just that: my opinions. But they are certainly shaped by facts and research. By the end of each show you'll most likely have more questions than answers.

Seems reasonable to me. If you're going to lob insults, all I ask is that you sprinkle in some sources and evidence in there, as well.

I'd hardly call it "entertainment" if all it manages to do is piss me off. I don't watch TV so I can watch glorified cuntbags act like they're better than me.

"Act like they're better than me"?! Sounds like someone's got issues that Glenn Beck has nothing to do with...

Though I have a sneaking suspicion that you've never actually watched his show...

Some Beck from the Dead
http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

vs
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=AoadAVv3UYU

You can't suggest the picture painted here isn't slightly inconsistent.

What interests me particularly in the first clip is he mentions military personal. I was under the impression they often got private health care, not from the same hospitals as he does but through their own health care system. It's government run and has been described by some as the best in the world. But that's as far into the healthcare debate as I'm going: this isn't a topic about the healthcare debate, and I'm not suggesting I'm for or against changes.

The legal case I linked to in another post also seems to set a precedent for the style of shows these are. Other news channels have run fake stories in the past too, though. When lots of people no doubt look to these shows for sources of news, it still concerns. Nothing like inaccurate news reporting.

By the way, just to digress off the main point of topic, who was it that called for Israel to be wiped off the map?

President of Iran, um... A lot of people, actually. Definitely not the smartest move to make Israel, and then give it the right to accept any Jew as a citizen. And while we're on the topic of Glen Beck, I just think it's funny that he's being attacked by anonymous in such a crude way. As Napoleon said "A single enemy newspaper is to be more feared than a thousand enemy guns"

In any case, I have a feeling Glenn isn't gonna care, no matter what Napoleon says, the damn Corsican. But what I don't get is why everyone hates him so much. He's no where near as bad as any of his fellow workers, and calling Obama communist is nothing new. This seems to really be an American thing, I'm thinking, because even us Liberals often respect and agree with Conservatives on many points. Of course, our Conservatives are more like your Democrats.

Still, this really doesn't matter, and will probably matter even less if Obama does pass the bill. He might get a spike in death threats, or shit like that, but people are not really going to do anything. In fact, with how human history goes, the opposition is going to be painted as ignorant savages while everyone who agreed will be "warriors of freedom! *hugglebox*" or some stupid shit like that within like 20 years. Vice versa for if the opposition wins out on this.

In the end, no one is going to remember some shitty news anchor who talked about "Comrade Obama" or even the ones who kissed his ass.

This has almost nothing to do with the topic, but I'm curious as to how Shmeckie feels about conservative parents being opposed to Obama giving a speech to their children. http://www.nytimes.c...ol.html?_r=2&hp

To say something about the actual topic at hand, I think it's hilarious and amazing how much of an effect a group of people can have on the overall dynamic of the internets. I mean, the fact that the site rose to #4 on Reddit the day after it was posted and the Google search results really speak for themselves. I dislike the faked mugshot and police report though, it seems like that takes away from the message they're trying to convey through this attack.

Grr...

Spoiler

Eh, that's kinda life. I wish people wouldn't push their beliefs on their kids, though. God-forbid they actually get an inspirational speech from *gasp* a democrat.
