With the release of S. Darko, talk of the original film has increased again lately. I was listening to a radio show where one of the presenters was telling another presenter (and the listeners) the plot. I checked it against wikipedia, and the explanations were amazingly similar... and, I felt, somewhat wrong.

So a simple question: I know the movie goes back some way, what was your interpretation of Donnie Darko? What did you believe was taking place and being represented on screen?

I always thought that it was just some odd dream, or maybe a haunting.
I haven't watched it in years though, I need to again so I can re-figure it out. It's one of my favourite movies. <3

And what's this about S. Darko...?
What's that? o 3o

S. Darko is about his younger sister Samantha. Odd things happen to her, etc. It was done be a different director and different writer - reviews thus far have been far from positive. It was also released straight to DVD, probably in the hope of gaining slow popularity like Donnie Darko did.
