I'll answer with maybe. It'd take me time to code something worthwhile so it's not top of my priority list to do (I'd rather do some updates for the forum software before this, ie).

I'll go out on a limb slightly and say even if your friends don't care about Sonic any great amount, if they can give interesting conversation they'd still be a worthwhile member. I doubt most of the people here care about anything Sega are doing any more.

One of the persons I've invited knows absolutely nothing about Sonic, except his virtual, fictional existence. So yeah, why the hell not giving it a try?

Spoiler
GEE I MISS IT WHEN SEGA STILL MADE SONIC GAMES

I blame MMO's for me not coming, I miss this place for the most part, but... As a side note, whoever added that BBCode error thing deserves a fucking medal.

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

But if I'm perfectly honest, I don't think a forum like Sonic Online would continue to survive if we didn't start to open up conversation for other topics as well. The Sonic franchise has been dying away since SA2, and we can only talk about classic Sonic days for so long. I recall mentioning this in another topic, but it has been around eight years since I genuinely had an interest in games that Sega were releasing which involved Sonic.

If people want to have topics or forums to discuss MMOs, or any other subject you feel might fit in, I'm interested in your suggestions. We already have General Entertainment and General Gaming forums, but perhaps they just don't have enough focus/attention. We also have Open Discussion, where I'd love to see more talk about technology, computers, current affairs, or whichever beer you like best.

I really like this place, and it's my sincere hope that many of our long term members can find a reason to come back and talk about things here even if it's not just about Sonic any more.

This website needs to grow, as all your interests have. :)

No-one had any further suggestions it seems! SOL IS GOING TO DIE OH MY GOD DRAMA. Or not. It's just as well I don't rely on you all for my single point of inspiration.

I'll start advertising this board in some places I go to. I don't have a lot of friends who are interested in Sonic and/or message boards, but hey, at least I tried.

I think this is one of the best Sonic boards around though, to be honest. I mean, not a lot of places can make you be a sarcastic ass with a Sonictard and get away with it.

I still don't know anyone who'd wanna join.

I tried to generate activity via LPing because I thought it'd be fun, but almost everyone who wanted to LP only wanted to do so in a way that they were either unable or too unwilling to do. I already have some games in mind to do myself, but with nobody showing any real interest in this idea and the fact that almost nobody reads my longer posts (which is probably why I found myself repeating certain things in the thread I suggested the idea in), I feel that I'd probably just end up wasting time if I started up an LP thread for any game.

I was hoping that the SAGE would generate activity, especially since people showed interest in it, but it seems like nobody really wants to talk about anything that's been going on since it started.

As much as I would like to see this community grow, the only problem is that the other forums I go to aren't that active anymore. Not only that but those I know are slowly starting to lose interest in the blue blur. Nontheless, the activity here is much greater than anywhere else, well, at least for a Sonic forums anyways. In fact, from what I can tell, SOL is probably one of the best forums I've been to. With that said, I'll go ahead and try to advertise SOL on other sites. From there, one can only hope that in the next few days to come, more members will have joined.

Sweet. Really, people don't have to talk exclusively about Sonic here. That's something which we may change focus over somewhere down the line.
