Nick wouldn't shut the fuck up last night about me getting Tekken 6 after I told him I'd be getting a PSP... I'll be renting New Super Mario Bros. Wii if I have enough left over after buying the things I want.
Recently, I played the hell out of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Outside of a few small things and beating the game again with other characters, I've done pretty much everything there is to do. Sometime later, I might temporarily throw away what little of my sanity remains in order to attempt to beat the game at a level 1 max cap on hard mode with this character called Old Axe Armor, who is the weakest and most death prone character in the game.

Dude, you complained about Kaizo to an inch of your sanity, there's no way in hell you're going to get that without snapping. Have you ever even tried playing as the Old Axe Armor yet? I swear that anyone who claims to have done that is either lying, a cheater, or God.
Actually no, not even God would put with that shit.

A friend gave me Devil May Cry 4 for Christmas earlier in the month, and even though it's far from the best game in the series and has a lot of features that just annoy the hell out of me, I can't bring myself to stop playing it for very long. The Bloody Palace mode is incredibly addictive, even if failing at it so many times in a row is starting to feel like shooting myself in the foot... I also got Left 4 Dead 2 for Christmas, so I've been putting some time into that. Really fun game; it definitely feels a worthy follow-up to the original L4D based on what I've played so far.

Kaizo hasn't brought me withing an inch of insanity until later on in the game. I made it surprisingly far one night when I decided to be a dumbass by allowing Nick to convince me to race him in it under the promise that he'd play through Super Mario Bros. 3, which he didn't. I gave up when one save state kept failing me.
Last I played on Old Axe Armor was yesterday. Farthest I made it was to the Werewolf, a boss that I can beat the shit out of easily with anybody else, but somehow die to in four fucking hits. On Normal difficulty.
I assume that you're talking about playing with him on level 1 cap hard mode, because playing with him on Normal isn't that hard outside of some boss fights, most notably Death (especially with his "insta"-kill attack) and the Werewolf, so far, and Kaizo has been way more infuriating. I had problems on Legion as well, but it's nowhere near as bad as the two aforementioned bosses were. I already know Brauner, Dracula and Death, and True Dracula are gonna give me some hell. Especially Dracula and Death, as I still have trouble with them when playing with Jonathan and Charlotte, though I've learned their pattern, so the fight is nowhere near as hard as it used to be.
As for nobody beating the game with the Old Axe Armor on level 1 cap hard mode, there's actually videos for that shit on YouTube and a guide on GameFaqs that specifically details strategies for that mode, though the author is stuck on Brauner, so the advice on the fights with Dracula and Death and True Dracula were probably written by somebody else.
