Soo, since it's been so advertised on TV lately, I'm sure most of you are aware of Green Day's new album "21st Century Breakdown" coming out soon. And I couldn't be any more annoyed.

Sure, Green Day were a good band, back in thier day. Their time was the 90's. After the release of "American Idiot", and everywhere you went you heard 6th graders singing "Holiday", it was relevant to me that they needed to throw in the towel. Some may diagree with me though. Opinions?

I quite like it? It's just unfortunate annoying kids come along and ruin everything. They seem to do this a lot in the world. I say we take back the world and lock them all away in boxes.

Well, I guess that works. We could just get a big DVD of everything that sucks in the world and then make all kids watch it in kindergarten. DEstroy any chance of optimism.

Why the fuck are these talentless, hopeless, irredeemable human crimes against the human ear continuing to make music?! Who can willingly pay money to listen to some douchebag talk through his motherfucking nose about society when he knows dick about society, and pretend to be punk while punk "legends" call them hacks and posers (i.e. Sid Vicious)?! This band has no redeeming value whatsoever. There is no possible way a human being could or should possibly enjoy the "music" they produce, and yet inexplicably, people do. I cannot, and possibly will never, understand this. They are horrible. So bad that when I hear a song of theirs', it automatically makes that day a bad day, They're so terrible it stains all of humanity itself that they exist and produce music that people can listen to.

So WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY MAKING MORE OF THIS SHIT?! So we can't pour water over the faces of mass-murdering terrorists, but it's a-okay to subject the general public to this?! This isn't just bad music. It's so bad that the men who are behind it--both the band and their label--are immediately bad people for having anything to do with it. It is the sound of fucking evil.

Just think about it for a second: If these guys were antagonists in something awesome, like No More Heroes, Shmeckie would be all over these guys. But chances are that if they were in No More Heroes, their music would be awesome, but still.

Actually, we've been doing pretty good, considering. I just hope they get to the life-extending superscience soon. I want to be immortal god-king of Io NOW, damnit.

Wow, mixed opinions, I see.

I dunno. I just think they need to stop. They're stuck on thier American Idiot sound. The least they could've done with this album is stuck to thier roots. But no, they didn't. Therefore, I'm disappointed.

I dunno, I grew up with Greenday and still like their sound. It doesn't seem like they've changed too much to me. I'm not saying that their new fanbase isn't a bunch of annoying little fucks, but still, I just can't hate 'em.

EDIT: On an added note and in reply to a Greenday vs Jonas Brothers ad on my screen, fuck the Jonas Brothers.

To me, Green Day is like Baby's First Alterative Rock Band. It's something that tweens can get into that will hopefully lead them to better music later in life, when they've progressed beyond that awkward phase and can actually appreciate good, honest-to-god rock. I imagine it's hard for today's sheltered youth to jump straight into bands like Velvet Revolver or Foo Fighters, so they need some of this pretentious, wannabe bullshit to ease them into the real stuff.

In Green Day's defense, at least they're less irritating as Linkin Park.

Play them some Lordi. The ones who don't experience the phenomena of being skull-fucked by sound will be worthy of survival. Plus, Green Day's fanbase would be a helluva lot smaller...

My first alternative band was Matchbox Twenty. Not my favourite but i still enjoy them.

Really glad my first run in with Green Day was only around 5 or so years ago. I got to listen to the real good stuff, not some lame stuff to total;ly turn me off the genre.

Can't say I ever really listened to Green Day or any alternative bands, really... I just kinda went the Classic Rock route, got hooked on Floyd, and then made my way into older Heavy Metal from there. And then Retro introduced me to System of a Down and Rammstein, and, well... the rest is history.
