Because Combat seems to a major part of some of the RPs around here, SOL Role Playing v2 has been made with combat specifically in mind. This is not to say that it is encouraged for every single RP, but it just seems to happen a lot. I guess that's just what you get with this fandom.

So, keeping in mind that each character gets 3 actions in each post...

The following things in combat count as actions:

1) Attacking
2) Blocking
3) Dodging
4) Drawing a weapon
5) "Powering Up" (for those who act like this is DBZ)
6) Taking damage (elaborated below)

Now that we have that out of the way, some basic rules. Breaking these can lead to general disliking from the RP section. This is common RP courtesy in combat:

RULE 1
No Hit Calling or Narrating other character's moves.

RULE 2
No new powers as the fight demands.
Don't just pull new skills out your character's ass. Their skills are on their character sheet. If you use a special ability that is not on the sheet, I will personaly call you on it and make you rewrite that post.

RULE 3
No Omni-dodging/Omni-blocking.
While we're on this topic, if I ever read the words "easily dodged" I will focus all my rage into a ball of nightmarish death and send it after you via the internet. No court will convict me.

Now, onto Health and damage.

Each character has 10 Health Points (HP) for the entire RP. When a character is injured they must take an action to feel the injury/acknowledge it as noted above. This is because, unless otherwise noted by certain conditions like (an item or ability) characters feel pain.

3 types of injuries can be inflicted:

1)Light injury
Deducts 1 HP from the character. Includes damage to non-vital areas from cuts, blunt force, minor burns, etc.

2)Serious Injury
Deducts 3 HP from the character and limits them to one less action allowed per post (ex, from 3 actions allowed to only 2, 2 to 1, or 1 to 0). Includes damage to limbs and/or non-vital areas/organs from cuts, gashes blunt force, more serious burns, gunshots, etc.

3)Critical Injury
Deducts 5 HP from the character and limits them to two less actions allowed per post (ex, from 3 actions allowed to only 1 or from 2 to 0) . Includes damage to vital organs and serious damage to limbs from gashes, blunt force, burns, gunshots, impalement, etc.

When a character runs out of HP or can no longer take actions, they are out. The game starter can set up rules within their RP as whether a character that is out can come back or not and whether the same player can come back with a new character.

Combat vs NPCs.

As with everything else in an RP, there is no narrating other characters moves or hit calling allowed except when it comes to non-player characters.

Unless the RP starter has declared that an enemy NPC is some kind of Boss, the various minions are the player's to with what they will so long as combat isn't made too easy for there character. Once again, no omnidodging/blocking.

Just don't introduce new enemies unless you started the RP.
