Ok, from this point onwards I am officially changing the rules to make RPing less of a chore and easier to get into on this site. While the old stat system worked, it seemed that far too many new players didn't understand it and that there was way too much regulation to the point where even though characters were balanced, they weren't flexible anymore. So, with that in mind, I am doing my duty as leader of the RP section and making it fun for everyone. Both oldies and newbies alike will be able to RP more easily.

First and foremost, here are the new character sheets so just copy and paste the new format into your new profile post and fill out the information.

The old rule of having links to characters' profiles in your sig still stands.

Secondly, I'll be moving the old profiles to the archives soon. Don't worry, I'll allow you to recreate your old characters with the new system. Just keep track of their information (copy/paste into a word document if you have to) and use it as a reference when remaking them.

Please have at least two paragraphs for the Back Story and two for the Example Post.

Remember, you must have a link to each of your characters' topics in your signature. You do this by:

1) Copying the web address for the character's topic

2) Going to your control panel and clicking "editing signature". make sure you click inside that text box afterwards.

3) Clicking on the button that says http://.

4) Paste the address you copied into the first window that appears

5) Type the character's name in the second window that appears

If any of that is unclear, ask the mods or admins about it. They can help you.

For some general guidelines, try to obey the RP dos and don'ts and More RP suggestions topics.

I'll have links to the new rules in detail soon, so don't get going on your character until you read up on the rules.

EDIT: Links are up.

Here is a quick tip for everyone out there:

I really like detailed characters. The more details you include in your back story an abilities, the faster I usually approve them. I'm not saying to write a whole novel here, I'm just saying that you should really put some thought into your character and show me that you put thought into it.

Also, keep in mind that your character should not be or act just like you. Think about what your character's personality is and have them act accordingly. Remember that part of role-playing is acting and even though you have the time to compose your character's action off-line, you should have them do what they WOULD do in a situation instead of just what they probably SHOULD do or or you would do.
