I've pretty much decided that I'm changing the RP system so that it's less complicated and restrictive, thusly meaning that there's a lot less reading to do before hand and it's easier for new members to get used to. However, I would like some input from the players. Here is the basic setup for the new system (consider this SOLRP Second Edition), let me know what you think

PART 1

Players take turns. Subscribe to the RPs you’re involved in so that you don’t miss your's and hold everything up.

Only 3 actions are allowed per character per post. Multiple actions can be taken at the same time if they are within reason. Ex: Walking and talking can be done simultaneously, driving a car and juggling cannot.

The following list contains examples for what counts as an action, use it as a guideline:

1) General
a. Talking
b. Walking
c. Driving
d. Getting in/out of vehicle
e. Putting on/taking off a piece of equipment
f. Giving/taking/discarding an object
g. Lifting and object
h. Throwing and object
i. Pushing an object

2) Combat
a. Attacking
b. Blocking
c. Dodging
d. Taking damage
e. Drawing weapon

3) Action
a. Jumping
b. Running
c. Climbing
d. Sneaking
e. Swinging
f. Bailing out of a vehicle


PART 2

Each character has 10 Health Points for the entire RP.

When a character is injured they must take an action to feel the injury/acknowledge it. Characters feel pain, get used to it.

3 types of injuries can be inflicted:

1) Light injury
a. Includes damage to non-vital areas from cuts, blunt force, minor burns, etc…
b. Deducts 1 HP from target

2) Serious Injury
a. Includes damage to limbs and/or non-vital areas/organs from cuts, gashes blunt force, more serious burns, gunshots, etc…
b. Deducts 3 HP from target and they take one less action each post.

3) Critical Injury
a. Includes damage to vital organs and serious damage to limbs from gashes, blunt force, burns, gunshots, impalement, etc…
b. Deducts 5 HP from target and they take two fewer actions each post.

When a character runs out of HP or can no longer take actions, they are out. The game starter can set up rules within their RP as whether a character that is out can come back or not and whether the same player can come back with a new character.

PART 3

Each character has 3 Theme Words that help to describe them. For each word, a character can take on an ability or item that relates to that word. Ex: If a character has the theme word of “Swordsman”, they may wield a sword and have knowledge or an ability that relates to swordplay or their sword specifically.

Keep in mind that character abilities can override rules. This is why those in charge of the RP section around here are to approve characters before they are used.

Sorry, but I came expecting to see an Obama based character. Way to let us down.

It's possible, but not terribly likely. If there is, it's going to be much easier to use.
