But the original was more epic... Holy shit, I might have to watch that sometime! My only problem is that I'm used to most of the characters having deep voices. I can handle Gohan having a light voice as a kid or Krillin having a light voice because his wasn't too deep in the Funimation dub, but hearing Goku with a voice like that is a little unsettling...

Well, it's mostly due to Goku being so pure and child-like, so they gave him a voice to reflect that.

Plus, the Japanese version has Freezer/Freeza with a man voice, AND a personality!

Eeehhh... I don't know about that. I agree that GT doesn't deserve the scorn it gets from a lot of the more anal fans who hated it just because Toriyama didn't write it directly, but what I saw of it didn't lead me to believe that it "rocked". It does fuse a lot of the strongest elements of DB and DBZ, but it doesn't really do either one as well as those series did. And while some of the villains and plotlines were pretty cool, others were just kind of idiotic.

I think both voices fit Freezia honestly. The English one was more psychotic and pretty damn creepy. The Japanese had a more manly power full type guy; someone I guess more likely to be in charge of a planet selling organization.

Overall I say Japan did a bit better job in their version, but I always liked the English one. Especially the music.

I prefer the Japanese versions myself. Broli sounds more like one evil bastard in Japanese, whereas the English makes him sound like a steroid-abusing wrestler.

I'll cede you that after Baby (the aforementioned best villain), things got dumb, but that's to be expected. It wasn't supposed to go on after him, so the rest of it was obviously rushed. But I really loved GT up until episode 40 ended. Even though I loathe Pan, the Trunks-Pan-Goku trio played off one another excellently (probably the best character dynamic in the franchise). And don't get me started on the fuckawesone that is Baby.
