Late Night with Conan O'Brien aired its final episode a few hours ago. Wondering if anyone caught the tearful goodbye, the return of Andy Richter, the replaying of Conan's favorite bit, Conan giving away a chunk of the stage itself to the audience...

It was magic... Except for the White Stripes, they're fucking terrible.

I didn't see it. Isn't he taking over for Leno in like June or something?

That he is. He'll be moving to LA, so some elements of Late Night won't be following suit (including Abe Vigoda... :( ).

Oh man, I didn't know this was going to be on. I didn't even think O'Brien's last episode was for another month or two yet. Ah well. It'll be very interesting to see how he does on The Tonight Show. I mean, I'm sure he'll be good, but they're different enough programs that I wonder how much of the general tone of Late Night will follow Conan over to TTS.

Meanwhile, Late Night gets stuck with Jimmy Fallon... Good lord. Talk about trading down...

EDIT: Also, up yours Shmeckie! I like the White Stripes!

Hey, if you like nasaly college-sounding douches singing through a twanger, that's your problem.

How had I not heard about this? Damn, Jimmy Fallon? Seriously? Geez...

The White Stripes are awesome, by the way.

Aye, same here [/gay]. Although my lack of internet has reduced me to using dodgy porn sites on my phone browser and with no flash player on my phone I'm stuck with pictures ;_;. God I miss motion porn.

I think this is a bad move for Conan. His appeal seems to be more with the people that are up at the later hours that he comes on.

Oh well, hope he does good.

The episode should be on Hulu. I didn't get a chance to watch it, but I will soon.

And I like The White Stripes. :\ Well, Meg White can go to hell. Jack White rules, though.

I think it's a bad move, but he may have something better planned.

Thank you for posting that, Sway. I've watched Conan since 2001, but kinda came to a stop last year just because I found myself doing other things around that time, and I completely forgot that his last show was coming up this year. I'm really sad to see him go, and I hope he's as great on The Tonight Show as he was on Late Night.

I was gonna yell at you for not knowing who Conan O'Brien is, but if you can't watch that Hulu video, it means you're out of the US, so I won't.

Andy Richter to Rejoin Conan O’Brien as ‘Tonight Show’ Announcer
By Josef Adalian

Andy Richter is reuniting with Conan O’Brien, signing on to serve as announcer for Mr. O’Brien’s new incarnation of “The Tonight Show.”

NBC is expected to announce the decision later today.

Mr. Richter and Mr. O’Brien entered the pop culture landscape together in 1993, with Mr. Richter serving as sidekick to Mr. O’Brien when Mr. O’Brien took over from David Letterman as host of NBC’s “Late Night.” Mr. Richter left “Late Night” in 2000 to focus on acting.

On “Tonight,” Mr. Richter will not be a nightly desk-side presence as he was on “Late Night.” He will, however, participate in both live and pre-taped comedy bits.

“Andy is one of the funniest people I know, and we’ve maintained a close friendship since he left ‘Late Night,’” Mr. O’Brien said. “We have a proven chemistry that will be an incredible asset to ‘The Tonight Show.’”

What’s more, there’s a practical reason for Mr. Richter to join the “Tonight Show” team. “He owes me $300,” Mr. O’Brien said.

Mr. Richter was the last non-musical guest on the final edition of “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” last week.

Since leaving “Late Night,” Mr. Richter has been the lead in two half-hour network comedies, the critically acclaimed “Andy Richter Controls the Universe” and “Andy Barker, P.I.” He also has appeared in feature films “Talladega Nights,” “Blades of Glory,” “Semi-Pro” and “Elf.” He’ll next be seen this summer in the Fox feature “They Came From Upstairs.”

Mr. Richter is represented by CAA and manager Tim Sarkes.

Mr. O’Brien and Mr. Richter will make their “Tonight” debuts on June 1. Jeff Ross is the show’s executive producer.

...Wasn't Will Ferrell in that last episode? He's not musical.

Andy was on after him though.

...But that's not the point! He's back! This is exciting to someone who has been watching Conan fairly regularly since season four.

This is a double-edged sword though. Yay, Andy's back! But that means no Joel...
