I am aware that the storyline is overly cliché, and that it's also freaking Dead Space with minor tweaks, but hey, it's set up in the Sonic universe. Sorta. It's supposed to be a Horror/Action RP, so:

1) Act like you have no idea what's going on.

2) Here you are giving new types of equipment. The attire is the same, by the way. Don't want to change that.
Swords and knives etc. are now somewhat lasers. Think Laser Chainsaws. It's more like that, just like in the Dead Space anime.
2a) The length of the Laser Chainsaws depend on the actual length of the orginial melee weapon.

3) Guns and such now have unlimited ammunition, BUT tend to overheat very quickly. Thus, the ammunition counter is now not said to be ammo, but how often they can shoot before the gun overheats:
3a) Small arms(Pistols, Uzis etc.) one post to cool down.
3b) Medium arms(SMGs, Assault Rifles etc.) two posts to cool down.
3c) Heavy arms(Sniper Rifles, Rocket Launchers etc.) three posts to cool down.
But, Rocket Launchers and other weapons with large ammunition do not cool down, but need ammo.

4) Powers are still the same, but no vehicles are allowed, and no form of long range communications allowed(Telepathy etc.). No life detection either.

5) Grenades. They aren't unlimited, but the security crew has loads of them, as well as many other types of arms, but not in the Heavy class. Killing monsters will also grant you grenades and has a small chance (7% chance every security type monster) to give you a new type of Arms.

6) The monsters are so numerous, because of the quantity of the passengers and crew, not to mention blind passangers (Or whatever), that you could consider these monsters pushovers.
6a) Monster statistics:
6aa) Statistics(Passenger type: Maximum 20):
Vitality: 7
Agility: 3
Strength: 10
Special Abilities: Regeneration (Heals one point of Vitality every two posts to a maximum of 7)
Spoiler

6ab) Statistics(Security type: Maximum 23):
Vitality: 9
Agility: 4
Strength: 10
Special Abilities: Regeneration (Heals one point of Vitality every two posts to a maximum of 7)
Spoiler

6ac) Statistics(Waiter/Waitress/Maid/Chef type: Maximum 21):
Vitality: 7
Agility: 4
Strength: 10
Special Abilities: Regeneration (Heals one point of Vitality every two posts to a maximum of 7)
Spoiler

6ad) Statistics(Engineer/Rest of the crew type: Maximum 22):
Vitality: 7
Agility: 3
Strength: 12
Special Abilities: Regeneration (Heals one point of Vitality every two posts to a maximum of 7)
Spoiler

Spoiler

7) I, the Game Master, will set up traps and locations, as well as starting positions for each one, but I will not roleplay with one of my characters. Please respect that.

8) Do not worry, I will not make any of your characters die, unless you want yours to.

Because of my lazyness, expect ship blueprints tomorrow, on Monday(GMT +1).

I'll probably edit more rules into this.

I'll join with Tetra.
You think her bow would be considered in the medium arms category? And are laser chainsaws allowed to have poison on them?

Oh God, I'm so in with Mulligan! His sharp wit, and loads of weapons could come in handy.

So the USP tactical would be a laser handgun, the Hand Grenades would be... I know! He's got bands on his wrists with little barrelish thingies on the underside that shoot out pulses. The Hand Grenade would be detonating pulses in the Heavy weapons category, and the Flash Grenades would be pulses that burst into a light wave, and would probably be in the Medium Weapons category.

The rules are set up numerically, and glad you two like it!
Also, what kind of... "Victim" are they? Military member, Engineer/Travelling member, or just a normal traveller.
Military ranks are from Recruit, Private, Corporal, Leiutanant, Sergeant.

P.S: You can suggest rules, tell me if I am doing anything wrong as a Game Master.
Flash grenades can be can also be adjusted into your style of fighting, should you want it. It can be put into modes:
Stun mode, more like a nerve gas. Stuns everyone in the targeted area. They cannot move for two posts.
Flash mode, although it could help against living, the monsters are affected with only an agility loss of one point. But effective in the long run nontheless.
Spoiler

Smoke mode, works almost the same way as Flash mode, just more effective against the monsters. Two point Agility loss along with one point of Vitality.
Spoiler

That, and that the Laser Chainsaws do not have poison on them, Green. Instead, call it "Incineration". Same effect as poison, just with flames. Who doesn't love flames under secure circumstances?

I think I'm going to join with Aaron. I'd like to see how a water elemental will do in a fairly water-deprived environment. He'll be a traveller (fall asleep in one wrong body of water and you end up on a spaceship).

Instead of belcoming a blade, his sapphire will become a handle and a chainsaw-like laser will appear from it.

That being said, he may not do very much fighting due to his backstory and personality...

I also had a question. Since the characters aren't going to die unless you want them to, what happens if your character reaches 0 vitality? Do you drag yourself to a safe area? Is there regeneration time? Just wondering.

Aah, yes. Zero Vitality. That's sort of tricky. Hmm...

*Thinks*

*Still does*

*Holy shit?*

*Every one of these...*

*Take five minutes.*

*KACHING!*

Got it! I've heard, that in Gears of War, either the first one or second, that you can still crawl after you're... Em... Been hurt badly. Let's say it goes like that. You crawl away from the bastards. Besides, I think

the scenario, that is. Then again, the monsters ARE pushovers. Sort of.

So, Mulligan would probably be a normal traveler on his way to conduct business with something or other. But remember he designed an operating system, so he's not just some clueless little sitting duck. He could probably work his way around any electronic doors and such much easier than other people, but he's not exactly hacking proficient or anything like that.

EDIT: Quick question: Does Mulligan's grenade weapon skill still count towards the pulse blaster thingies? Also, does it effect the grenades found on the ship at all? Just wondering so I can know to play that +1 damage into my strategy or not.

Sure they do! And do you mean that any grenades found on the ship gets the +1 bonus as well? If it's that you mean, then I'd say alright to it.

Ok, Tetra's longbow would be a medium class laser rifle with some homemade modifications making it very hard to use by anyone who doesn't know what they're doing with it.
When do we start?

You know, something about this makes me think of System Shock 2 more than Dead Space for some reason. Maybe it's because I was talking about how Mulligan designed an OS.

Have you ever played SS2? At the beginning you get to develop your stats and pick one of three military branches: Marines (strength and weapons skill proficiency), Navy (hacking and weapons modifying), and OSP (basically Psi-Ops, with intelligence and cyber implant bonuses.)

I'm done with my little tangent now. I can start this evening if anyone else is ready.

I've never even heard of System Shock 2. Wait... It was in the countdown of the scariest games yet, wasn't it?

EDIT:
The first level is here. A reminder, that the red dot to the lower right is an elevator, with stairs beside it.

Large areas of interconnected rooms equals tons of claustrophobic fun!

And yeah, System Shock 2 is often on lists of scariest games, and with good reason. The game is atmospheric as hell, actually, it's a lot like Bioshock (which actually copies off of it it many respects) only it's much better. Not that Bioshock was particularly bad, it just didn't click with me.

So yeah, think Bioshock in space, with 1999 graphics, and much harder and scarier.

And I never played BioShock either! D: I've heard a lot about it though, heard it was arguably the fan's Game of the Year?

Wait... 1999 graphics can be scary? Meh, nevermind.

Blink. Another blink...
Wide eyes now
Tetra sat up. Eyes scanning the room, she notices there seem to be 4 doorways that seemed to be made of solid steel and all exactly alike. Machines around the room where flashing lights and making ominous whirring sounds. The room itself didn't seem to be more than 35 sq. feet, but she was still drowsy and the room was very distorted to her. Against one door where her weapons, a very oddly shaped laser-saw that seemed to be flaming, and the rifle she had been cleaning before getting knocked out by unseen forces.
Grimacing, Tetra sat up and went to go retrieve her weapons. She shut off the laser saw and slid it into her coat. Then she holstered her rifle and went to the machines to see if there was anything to make off them. They seemed to have read-only instruments on them, in scales Tetra didn't recognize. She then started to the door, but stopped not 2 steps and lifted her foot out of what looked like vomit. She cursed herself for not noticing the pile of yellow goo before, and then decided it would be best to call out instead of barge on through.
' Hello! Is anybody able to hear me ? " she called, but the only thing that answered was a few beeps from the machines. " Very well ," Tetra told herself, " I wouldn't mind a little exploring ". She went to the door, opened it....
