Well, here's the final chapter of the story! I hope you all enjoyed it!
Chapter 30: Restoring the Balance between Light and Shadow
Sonic’s body began to float into the air, the seven purified emerald shining with radiant beauty as they orbited his body. Sonic’s fur color continued changing at a constant rate, almost to point of changing color each time one emerald finished an orbit around his body. The light emanating from Sonic’s body vaporized all clouds in the sky, allowing the rays of the sun to shine down in a most holy fashion.
Sonic closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Sparks of lightning shot out from Sonic’s aura and struck the Chaos Emeralds, returning all power he had absorbed from them back to its original resting place. As this happened, Sonic’s fur color returned to its black color that had appeared after Draon forced Sonic to unlock his dark energy. Sonic could hear a voice inside of him, his own dark powers, telling him to forget about everyone and take the power of the emeralds for himself.
“Not gonna happen!” he told himself.
The emeralds were now glowing with so much positive energy that they were even more dangerous to gaze upon than the sun. Sonic let out a loud yell and his dark aura began transferring energy into the Chaos Emeralds. The Chaos Emeralds dimmed in shining quality, returning to the glow that they originally had before all of this began. Sonic heaved a sigh of relief and relaxed his body. His body then began plummeting towards the ground, landing with a thud.
“Sonic!” everyone called out.
They all ran over to him and saw that he was fine, sleeping from the extreme lack of energy. His fur had returned to its original blue color as well. They turned their attention towards the sky, where the seven emeralds rose high up into the sky. Just as it appeared that they had joined into a large sphere of light, the seven Chaos Emeralds scattered in all direction, leaving a trail of light behind, just like they were supposed to.
“There goes my rare beauties,” Rouge said in a disappointed voice, approaching the group from behind.
“Heh, like that’s going to stop you from getting your greedy little hands on them,” Knuckles snickered as he turned his head to face her.
“Better than being a muscle-bound sloth,” Rouge retorted, giving a faint smirk.
“Why you little…!” Knuckles growled.
Knuckles and Rouge began yelling at each other like they usually did, leaving Shadow and Tails to give a relieved laugh. They were happy that it was finally over. Sonic began to stir and he stretched himself out, getting to his feet soon after.
“Jeez, can’t a guy take a nap in peace anymore?” Sonic mumbled.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to Sonic. They cheered for his victory, as did inhabitants of the city as they gathered around.
“Thanks everyone,” he stated. “By the way, Tails, I’m sorry, but I accidentally broke that killer invention you made me.”
“Don’t mention it, Sonic,” Tails replied, just happy to see Sonic okay. “I’m just glad I could help out!”
Shadow smirked and turned his back, slowly walking away.
“Until next time,” he said as he walked away.
Rouge hopped into the air and flapped her wings, hovering in place.
“I’m off too, later boys!” she told them, turning around and flying away.
Without the ability to fly anymore, Sonic couldn’t get back home as quickly, and Tails hadn’t brought the Tornado. He, Tails, and Knuckles decided to take the long way, though Sonic knew he would hate the boat ride more than anything. As they neared the edge of the city outskirts, the group saw something come crashing down from the sky in the distance.
“What was that?” Knuckles asked.
“I don’t know, some kind of meteorite?” Tails guessed. “Possibly even a Chaos Emerald!”
“Let’s go check it out!” Sonic suggested.
Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles arrived at the scene shortly, and noticed a small crater with an oval-shaped object in the center. It was an egg, a large silver egg. The three got closer to it, only to be surprised when it suddenly started shaking. The shell began to crack, and out popped two scaly arms and legs. When the egg completely hatched, a small silver dragon, much resembling Draon, emerged. Knuckles and Tails almost screamed.
“Pr-Pride!” Tails gasped.
“After all of that, he’s still alive?! Doesn’t this guy ever quit?!” Knuckles exclaimed.
Sonic ignored them and approached the dragon, examining it carefully. The hatchling timidly stepped back, unsure whether Sonic was a friend or foe. Sonic looked at the dragon’s back, and saw that nothing was there.
“It’s all right, guys,” Sonic announced. “He’s harmless.”
Sonic bent down and gently picked up the dragon. The dragon, though scared, did not resist. As Sonic plopped him in his arms, the dragon began to smile and relaxed, now trusting Sonic entirely.
“What do you mean?” Knuckles wondered.
“This may sound weird, but before I defeated Draon, I saw his memories,” Sonic explained. “He had a rough childhood, and the dragons only increased his rage, rather than try to turn him good. Then, after I released that final attack, Draon and I both had a vision about Avian Inochi, the dragon elder. He apologized to Draon for everything, and asked Draon to carry on their legacy as the last one. I think this is the innocent form he saw when Pride was reborn as Draon. Honestly, I doubt he remembers anything, and without the Chaos Emerald embedded in his back, I think it’s possible for him to live a normal life. Perhaps, we can do what should’ve been done the first time.”
“I understand, but what are you suggesting we do with him?” asked Tails.
“First we should find Draon a good home, and somebody who can love him no matter what,” Sonic replied. “Who knows? As a dragon, he could be a good ally someday.”
Knuckles folded his arms and smiled.
“Sounds goods to me!” he admitted.
“Right, then once we get back,” said Tails. “We should focus our attention on finding the perfect home for him!”
“Agreed, little buddy!” Sonic stated, nodding his head in agreement.
The young dragon smiled innocently as he looked at three heroes. Though the dragon was too young to speak, or really have any thoughts of his own, somehow he knew that some day he and the three heroes would be good friends.
Once back home, Sonic continued being pursued by the obnoxious Amy, never able to lose her no matter what he did. Knuckles returned to duty as guardian of the Master Emerald on Angel Island, while Rouge scoped out newspaper ads for any news on important gems. Shadow was off on his own somewhere, searching for answers to his questions, and Dr. Eggman was busy working on his latest plans for world domination. Tails helped Cream and Vanilla try to find a good home for Draon. Vanilla had offered to raise the young dragon alongside Cream, but Sonic and the others figured that it would be better if he was raised in a place with more social interaction.
In the end, the latest disastrous plot was stopped and everyone resumed their normal lives, waiting for the day when their assistance would be needed again.
The end!

I just read this story, I think it's awsome. I did had character ideas much similar to the sin related ones in this story, (I'm sure others do too if they ever watched full metal alchamist.), but after seeing this story, I had second thoughts on posting about them because I didn't want to seem like ripping off the author's idea. I just wanted to now if it was okay with him first.

That was easily the best fan fiction I've read. Ever. (I've hardly read, any, but still!)
Who was Sloth? Was there a Sloth? I don't remember. I'll have to check... oh, it was Knuckles. Should've known.
Anyway, great job. Never expected the Draon to be Pride... Oh, I hope I didn't just spoil the story for someone.

Hm, look at that closely would you? If I'm not mistaken, today's June 30th, that would make the last time somebody posted in this topic over two months ago. It's a safe bet that it's not being updated again, and if it is, then the one to revive it should be the creator when they post a new part. In other words, you shouldn't have posted there. Not a huge deal since you're new, but try to remember to look at the date next time, alright?
