Role Playing
Back story:
Magus grew up in a village separated from the rest of the world. The technology was not as good as ours, but they had discovered something that humans had long given up on; magic. Using the power of their magic, the villagers lived in harmony with nature and taught their children, including a younger Magus, how to do so.
All was going well until the Black Arms appeared and destroyed the peaceful settlement. After being given the sword of a legendary hero of the village, Magus took part in the fight against the alien invaders. However, he could not save his beloved home. Now he must live amongst the humans while he seeks a way to revive his old way of life and once again live in harmony with nature. He still carries the knowledge of his people, as well as the scars from the war that destroyed them.
Example post:
Magus put down another book and rubbed his temples. "The answer isn't here either," he quietly complained, "I've gone through half of this library and still haven't found a thing." Picking up another book, he opened the cover. It was getting late, but he knew that the answers he searched for were somewhere amongst the pages upon pages of literature before him.
He had been doing nothing but reading all day, only stopping the occasional trip to the bathroom or cup of coffee. "Out of all these humans have created," he mumbled, "Coffee is the only thing worthwhile, it would seem. Oh well, at least they're good for something."
Just then, the librarian approached him and told him, "Sir, the library is closing soon. We'll have to ask you to check out those books now if you wish to keep reading them."
Magus nodded, closed the cover of his book and picked up a second book. "I'll just check these out and be on my way," he informed her, "There has to be an answer somewhere in here."
