Well the last announcement was in October last year, so I can't help but think I should make myself a poor excuse to post another one. And here it is: if you find the server slightly less responsive it's due to the PHP opcode cache being disabled. What does that mean in layman's terms? .... Well nothing you really need to worry about. From what I've seen so far, there's not been any noticeable performance hit anyway.
Also, I may inadvertently break the server sometime next week. I will be attempting to upgrade to Apache 2, ooh the excitement. Can you feel it? ...
Can you feel it,
Can you feel it,
Can you feel it
If you look around
The whole world is coming together now, baby!

You should have wrote the lines from "Can you Feel the Sunshine?" and cursed us all with the wrath of the Tails' Doll. Did you know that if you listen closely during the instrumental solo you'll here the Tails' Doll laugh? It's really creepy!
EDIT:A new update to the site sounds really cool though.

You know what is really exciting though? Apache2 is what serves up pages when you type in the url. This sexy update is something you'll never notice if it succeeds, and will generate create errors of "server cannot be found" if it doesn't.
